Trang 3VinUni University (Vin University) is a private non-profit university located in Hanoi, Vietnam The school was approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 17, 2019
In April 2018, the VinUni University project signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania (these two schools belong to the Ivy League group)
In the early stages, the university focused on three main disciplines including: business administration, health sciences, engineering and computer science In which, there are 8 specific majors including: hotel management, business administration, real estate management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, medical doctor, bachelor of nursing
School architecture, landscape and interior design are all undertaken by the world's leading design companies, namely Aecom (USA); Westgreen (Canada) and HBA Company (USA), in order to provide a creative learning environment that inspires "dare to think big" for students, lecturers and researchers The entire school has Gothic architecture, characterized by vertical shafts reminiscent of the Roman stone columns of the Pantheon pointing up to the sky to convey the message "School of light of knowledge" The symbol of the Sun spreading the light of knowledge 1s placed on the top of the tower of the brand building with a height of 108 m In particular, VinUni owns a green, smart and energy-saving campus with 86% green trees, many overhead gardens and the entire 1,000 m? roof of the experimental building is solar panels
The exterior design is magnificent and impressive neoclassical architecture, but the interior of VinUni is completely modern and advanced, with the highest quality for academic service The school has 9 blocks, including the main building, dormitory, sports complex, library, laboratories and simulation center ensuring an optimal teaching and learning experience for a scale of 3,500 students The classrooms and lecture halls are designed flexibly, with lots of light, and lots of open space, in order to arouse the cooperation and creativity of lecturers and students The 4,000 m? digital library with huge resources, operating
24 out of 7, is the heart of VinUni, an ideal place for group study, research and discussion of start-up projects [ 9]
Space for daily living, physical training, entertainment, etc is also invested by VinUni equivalent to world-class universities Dormitory has a large area according to the "3 together" model: studying together, living together, working together; with a full canteen, medical room, self-study area, convenience stores and relaxing space after school The sports complex has a sports house with an area of 4,000m2, including an Olympic standard indoor swimming pool
Trang 4In 2022, Vietnam's economy is expected to grow by around 7%, driven by investments in the production of export goods Factory owners from more developed parts of Asia are saving money in Vietnam thanks to low-cost labor, but that also means low-skilled labor
Now, when many companies decide to scale, they develop administrative offices and R&D staff That means more job opportunities for technicians, marketers and assistant managers However, many of those companies face a shortage of skilled workers because Vietnamese schools are not teaching what students really need
For such a situation, Vingroup in Vietnam has come up with a solution to this problem Vingroup received approval in December to operate its own university This university was built in Hanoi with an investment of up to 151 million USD
VinUni University, intends to seek out top lecturers from all over the world to train students, thereby meeting the growing demand of large corporations for highly specialized labor resources
The trend of global integration in education in the past few years is taking place extremely strongly and comprehensively in many developed countries, in order to improve understanding, broaden horizons and change conventional thinking of young students
However, in Vietnam, this form is still very new and does not have a specific standard, leading to the fact that hot industries that have been connected to foreign countries are not properly understood and not really popular Universities in our country, partly because of this, are difficult to appear on prestigious education quality rankings such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) or Times Higher Education (THE)
Understanding the actual situation and the potential of Vietnam's education 1s still huge, Vingroup has invested in building VinUni University with a statement from the very beginning on the direction and development strategy: cooperation with the universities are in the top 20 prestigious global, focusing on the Ivy League group such as the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University Choosing the "giant" with worldwide reputation, this is the long-term and macro

1.2 Objectives of the project
VinUni's goal is to recruit talent to develop talent for the country and is ready to provide scholarships and financial support to talented poor students Therefore, VinUni is not a university of the rich, but of the talented

1.3 Scopes of the project
Location of project: VinUni University is located in the Vinhomes Ocean Park urban complex in Gia Lam, Hanoi
With extremely favorable construction site conditions, located in the campus where many large schools of the National University system are concentrated
The dormitory will be a convenient place for international students to live and study In addition, the project is also built on a main road with many shops and
business activities that will help international students easily integrate into a new life

2.1 Challenges facing the project
The first difficulty that the VInUni project encountered was that in the near-inauguration and completion of the project, the Covid-19 pandemic appeared,
which could (or did) slow down the construction progress of the project through ways li, infected workers, etc In addition, the pandemic slows the university
admissions process along with the wear and tear of facilities Since then, the investor (Vingroup) will have to pour more capital into this project to offset the
losses
The second challenge is conflicts with suppliers, and other stakeholders Since this is a large construction project, it will have to work with a lot of parties On
the supplier side, the project needs a lot of materials,so it will need to work with many suppliers The main challenge is not having the same working style, so
there can be quarrels in the communication process The main consequence is that the supplier will delay supply leading to shortage of materials and affecting
