Trang 3I Introduction
The world is developing more and more, and the needs of people increasing, which has created great pressure on the environment and resources As a result, the environment becomes seriously polluted and natural resources are exhausted In it, the scientists concluded that global warming is caused by the effect of greenhouse effect and this needs to be addressed quickly
In the article below, I will clarify this issue
II Body
a) Describe the factors that contributed to the earth's greenhouse effect (GHE) phenomenon
We live in the 21st century, where global warming is becoming a real threat to our entire planet The cause of global warming is an increase in the average temperature of the atmosphere, of which the main cause of global warming is due to human actions that have a strong impact on the earth Scientists already have studies showing that this phenomenon will hurt the planet and that in the coming years if not improved, global warming will shorten the life of the planet The earth
Causes: According to research by scientists, there are two main causes of global warming: natural and man-made Natural causes have existed and affected the Earth for thousands of years Besides, the most alarming cause is man-made, it comes from human impacts on the natural environment leading to the greenhouse effect This type of emissions has become a threat to life on the planet Here are the details of each cause:
+ Natural causes:
- Solar operation: This activity causes short-term heating cycles According to research, the current activity of the Sun produces more and more radiation during its nuclear fusion activity Harmful rays emitted by the Sun will be deflected by the ozone layer, but some of these rays remain in the atmosphere and are stored as heat and increase the average temperature of the sun planet
- Steam: As the temperature increases, water vapor increases in the atmosphere causing the average temperature of the Earth to rise over time and contributing
to the warming of the Earth The greater the amount of water vapor, the greater the Earth’s ability to retain heat
Trang 4+ Human causes
- Energy production + Electricity produced from the burning of natural gas, and fossil fuels such as coal, oil, or gas will generate a large number of emissions globally These emissions are usually carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, which will cover the Earth and trap the Sun's heat
- Commodity production + Today, factories and factories have sprung up everywhere to produce products for human life Factories with large capacities often bum coal, oil, and gas to maintain production activities Besides, it also has a negative impact on the environment because it has created the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions
- Deforestation + The fact that people cut down forests to get wood for business, and exploit them for the purpose of getting land to serve agriculture or build infrastructure About 12 million hectares of forest are cut down every year Trees play a role
in photosynthesis, absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen, deforestation is an act of self-destruction of the Earth's natural green lungs, increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and also is one of the causes of the greenhouse effect According to statistics, in January 2022, up
to 430km2 of Amazon forest in the territory of Brazil was destroyed
- Use a lot of transport
+ Most of the means of transport operate on fossil fuels, which transportation is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide Vehicle emissions account for a quarter of global dioxide emissions
- Percentage of human activities to increase in Earth's temperature:
+ Energy usage: 50%
+ Industry: 24%
+ Agriculture: 13%
+ Deforestation: 14%

1.2 Carbon dioxide emissions of the top 40 countries b) Identify and discuss the greenhouse effect (GHE) due to global warming
The greenhouse effect
Trang 6The greenhouse effect is warming that happens when the concentration of greenhouse gases in
an enclosed space increases and these gases prevent heat from being easily released This effect does not only refer to global warming, but alsso other instances of trapped heat
Groups of substances that cause the greenhouse effect
Carbon dioxide (CO2):
Carbon dioxide gas is generated from the combustion of natural fuels, coal, and wastes, CO2
is the gas that causes the fastest and most severe greenhouse effect
Methane (CH4)
Methane makes up 13% of greenhouse gases The characteristic of Methane gas is that it retains heat 21 times higher than carbon dioxide Methane gas is produced during the combustion of natural gases and fossil fuels
Nitrogen Oxide (N20)
It accounts for about 5% of greenhouse gases The characteristic of N2O gas is that it retains heat 270 times more than CO2 molecules It is born during agricultural production and industrial activities
Ozon (O3)
It accounts for about 8% of greenhouse gases Ozone is also a major component of the stratosphere This layer has the function of absorbing radiation and ultraviolet rays
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC)
It accounts for about 20% of greenhouse gases This is a human-synthesized chemical for the purpose of industrial production In particular, this substance is abundant in air conditioners and fire protection systems According to statistics, the annual CFC gas will increase by 4%, it
is forecasted that by 2050, CFCs can be up to 9 billion tons
The process of the greenhouse effect
The greenhouse effect occurs when the composition of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide is higher than allowed Our atmosphere is an enclosed space, and the composition of these gases should not exceed 0.03% When these components increase, molecules with good heat retention will be trapped and slow down the process of giving off heat, thereby causing the greenhouse effect
Trang 7Harms of the greenhouse effect
-Climate Change
But human industrial and production activities that increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are the cause of climate change Climate change causes many negative impacts
on the entire ecosystem as well as human life
- Sea level rise
The greenhouse effect also affects sea levels The sea level rises abnormally, seriously affecting coastal cities and residential areas, including Vietnam Worse, causing floods in some places, affecting people's daily life
-Global warming
The temperature of the Earth is changing in an increasing direction due to the greenhouse effect Carbon dioxide gas will absorb radiation as well as heat from the Earth and not release it into space
- Ice melt phenomenon
The Earth is getting hotter and hotter, causing ice at the poles to melt, even permafrost Scientists warn that this can cause ancient bacteria that have been frozen for thousands of years back into the environment, negatively affecting human health
- Affect the weather
Global ecosystems are greatly affected by greenhouse gases The phenomenon of prolonged drought in some areas affects people's daily life Or there are places with long rainy seasons and sudden increases in rainfall from extreme weather
- Affect the living environment of living species
Prolonged heat, drought, or rain will change the living conditions and habitats of species Some species even become extinct due to the loss of habitat or food sources The result is a loss of ecosystem diversity
- Affect human health
Trang 8Hot sun and heavy rain are good conditions for the growth and reproduction of pathogenic bacteria, causing new diseases that directly threaten human health As a result, the human mortality rate is increasing
Improving greenhouse effect
-Planting trees
Trees play an important role in absorbing CO2 and emitting O2 Mobilizing people to actively plant forests and limit deforestation is always an important factor to combat climate change Plant a variety of trees that specialize in CO2 absorption to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, thereby reducing the greenhouse effect
1.3 Honda Vietnam organizes "Tree Planting Day 2022 - Together with Honda keep
Vietnam green forever"
- Use efficiently and save energy According to research, the burning of fossil fuels is one of the causes of the greenhouse effect Limit the use of fossil fuels, instead use clean energy sources such as wind, solar, tidal, geothermal energy, etc
- Saving energy
Trang 9Part of the electricity that people are using comes from burning fossil fuels, which fossil fuels will produce a lot of carbon dioxide, making the Earth hotter Turning off when not in use is probably a familiar keyword for everyone From there, it shows that each person's consciousness of saving electricity will contribute to reducing the warming of the Earth
w
EARTH HOUR
1.4 Earth Hour is an annual international event taking place in March, organized by the World Wildlife Fund, which advises households and businesses to turn off their lights and electrical appliances do not greatly affect daily life within 60 minutes This
is an action to contribute to raising people's awareness of saving electricity
- Priority use of public transport
Smoke from vehicles also contributes to the greenhouse effect Vehicles need to burn fuel to operate, in the process will produce a lot of CO2 and dust Instead of using private vehicles, we can use public transport to reduce emissions
- Recycle and reuse
We should give priority to using products that are reusable or easy to recycle, and environmentally friendly In this way, we can reduce about 1.2 tons of CO2 emissions into the environment every year
Trang 101.5 Markets and supermarkets replace difficult-to-decompose plastic bags into biodegradable roll bags to contribute to protecting the living environment
- Propagating environmental protection messages
Mobilizing people to have a sense of environmental protection, promoting activities and movements related to environmental protection Organize seminars for people, especially students to understand the great harm of the greenhouse effect, and at the same time increase the sense of responsibility and responsibility of each person for a GREEN-CLEAN-BEAUTIFUL environment

1.6 Wold Environment Day-WED is chosen by the United Nations General Assembly
to take place on June 5 every year, in order to mobilize and propagate people to protect the environment and raise people's awareness of the environment Analyse environmental programs organized by the government to create environmental awareness among the public
Activities to respond to World Environment Day 2022 in Vietnam
With the theme "Only One Earth", World Environment Day 2022 is organized by the United Nations Environment Association (UNEP) to convey the message of joining hands to protect the living environment and limit copper pollution response time to factors that lead to the global greenhouse effect
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam has had a number of specific response activities such as:
- In Thanh Hoa, in addition to organizing the launching ceremony of the whole province
in response to World Environment Day, the provincial government also organizes activities to separate waste at source and combat plastic waste
1.7 Cleaning up the environment at Sam Son beach (Thanh Hoa)
- In Khanh Hoa province, the provincial leadership of the province held a meeting in response to World Environment Day, calling on people to respond with activities such
as cleaning public areas; schools, and residential areas, planting trees
- In Quang Binh, there were nearly 1,000 youth union members and cadres volunteering
