Giáo án được thiết kế theo từng tuần xuyên suốt 1 năm (36 tuần) dành cho sách tiếng Anh Light On lớp 6 là công cụ quan trọng hỗ trợ giáo viên trong quá trình giảng dạy tiếng Anh cho học sinh ở độ tuổi này. I Objectives (learning outcomes):

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

a Knowledge:

- Learn vocabulary: Phrases (raise awareness); Verb (breathe) and phrasal verbs

- Know how to protect environment

b Core competence and language skills:

- Listen and read for gist

- Make a leaflet about Green Neighbourhood Day

- Develop Ss’ creativity

- Improve reading skills - read for gist, read for cohesion and coherence

- Answer comprehension questions based on a text

c Personal qualities:

- Build their good awareness of environment

II Teaching aids:

- Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, class CDs, IWB software,

projector/interactive whiteboard/TV, PPT

- Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm-up: (5 minutes)

a Objectives: to introduce the new lesson and set the scene for Ss to acquire new

language; to get students' attention at the beginning of the class by means of enjoyable and short activities as well as to engage them in the steps that follow

b Content: answering the questions

c Expected outcomes: Ss can have some ideas about protecting environment.

d Competence: communication, collaboration, analytical thinking skills

- Ask Ss to look at the

announcement and elicit

Green Neighbourhood Saturday There are lots of ways to make our neighbourhood green!

- Using electricity means burning fossil fuels

so we should all try to cut down Turn off the lights when you’re not in a room and don’t leave your computer on all night

- We often don’t think about it, but there are water shortages around the world, so we should be careful about the amount we use Don’t use a hosepipe to clean your balcony or yard, turn off the tap when you’re brushing your teeth, and have showers instead of baths

- Build their love and appreciate their neighbourhood

- Know the value of working together
