LIGHTING (EXT) AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL
·
Initialize the height control sensor signal after the vehicle height changes due to replacement of thesuspension or after performing such operations as removal and reinstallation or replacement of the rearheight control sensor
Headlight Leveling Motor Based on the signals received from the headlight leveling ECU, each motormoves the reflector in the headlight to vary its low beam height.
Rear Height Control Sensor
Sub-assembly LH Transmits a height control sensor signal to the headlight leveling ECUassembly
Brake Actuator Assembly
(Skid Control ECU) Transmits a speed sensor signal to the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
ECM Transmits an engine running status signal to the headlight leveling ECUassembly.
Combination Meter Assembly Displays a warning message on the multi-information display if amalfunction is detected by the headlight leveling ECU assembly.
Detects changes of vehicle movement based on the rear heightcontrol sensor sub-assembly LH and vehicle speed signal
·Outputs control signals to the headlight leveling motors based onthe detected value
·Provides initial set control and a fail-safe function
·
Fail-safe
The headlight leveling ECU operates in fail-safe mode if an abnormal condition has been detected, and a
message is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly when a malfunction isdetected in the headlight beam level control system
