SEAT – FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Separate Folding Seat Type) SE–19

1 INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

(a) Place the front seat in the cabin

(b) Tighten the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat

Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

(c) Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat

Torque: 37 N*m (375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)

(d) Install the wire harness clamp

(e) Connect the connector

(f) w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:

(1) Connect the connector

2 INSTALL SEAT TRACK COVER

HINT:

Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side

(a) Engage the 2 claws and install the seat track cover

3 CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

1 DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

2 REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER

HINT:

Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat track cover

3 REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors

(b) w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:

(1) Disconnect the connector

(c) Using a clip remover, remove the wire harness clamp

(d) Remove the 4 bolts and front seat

1 REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the lock button of the front seat headrest support and remove the front seat headrest

2 REMOVE LUMBAR ADJUSTER DIAL

(a) Pull the lumbar adjuster dial outward

3 REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip taped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle

4 REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

(a) Remove the screw

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and clip, and remove the front seat cushion shield

5 REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the wire harness clamp and 2 connector clamps

(b) Remove the wire harness clamp

(c) Disconnect the seat position airbag sensor connector

(d) Remove the nut and front seat inner belt

6 REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

(a) Remove the screw

(b) Disengage the claw and clip, and remove the front seat cushion inner shield

7 REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

(a) w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:

(1) Using a clip remover, remove the connector clamp

(2) Remove the wire harness clamp

(b) Remove the 5 hog rings

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front seat headrest support

(a) Remove the front seat cushion cover from the front seat frame adjuster

(b) Remove the 2 hog rings

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and 3 hooks, and remove the front seat cushion pad together with the front seat cushion cover

(a) Using a "Torx" socket wrench T30, remove the screw and seat position sensor

1 INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR

(a) Temporarily install the seat position sensor

(b) Install a 1 mm (0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the slide rail and seat position sensor as shown in the illustration

NOTICE:

• If the seat position sensor has been dropped,

or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position sensor with a new one.

• When installing the seat position sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.

HINT:

Make sure that the clearance between the seat position sensor and seat rail is within 0.6 to 2 mm (0.023 to 0.079 in.)

(c) Push the top of the seat position sensor While holding the seat position sensor, tighten the seat position sensor using a "Torx" socket wrench T30

4 INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

(a) Engage the claw and install the reclining adjuster inside cover

(b) Tighten the screw

5 INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

(a) Hook the 10 hooks

(b) Install the lumbar support adjuster with the 2 screws

(c) Install 2 new wiring harness clamps

(d) Cut each wiring harness clamp 5 to10 mm (0.197 to 0.394 in.) from the stopper, as shown in the

illustration

7 INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the front seat cushion cover with new hog rings

(a) Install the front seat back pad onto the front seat frame adjuster

(b) Using hog ring pliers, install the front seat back cover with new hog rings

(c) w/ Front Seat Side Airbag:

(1) Attach straps and tighten the nut

Torque: 5.5 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) NOTICE:

• For vehicles with side air bag, the front seat back cover must be securely installed Otherwise, the side air bag may not deploy properly.

• Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the inner hook.

• Install the inner hook securely.

(d) Roll the front seat back cover down and install the 2 wires

(e) Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings

9 INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

(a) Engage the 2 claws and install the front seat headrest support

HINT:

Follow the same procedures as for the opposite side

10 INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD

(a) Engage the claw and clip, and install the front seat cushion inner shield

(b) Tighten the screw

11 INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front seat inner belt with the nut

Torque: 42 N*m (430 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) NOTICE:

Be careful not to place the front seat inner belt over the convex areas of the front seat with adjuster frame.

(b) Check that the front seat inner belt rotates smoothly

(c) Connect the seat position airbag sensor connector

13 INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK FRONT BRACKET LH

(a) Engage the hook and install the front seat track front bracket with the nut

Torque: 32 N*m (325 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)

14 INSTALL FRONT SEAT TRACK FRONT BRACKET RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side

15 INSTALL SEAT POSITION SENSOR

(a) for Driver Side:

(1) Install the seat position sensor (See page

RS-622)

(b) for Front Passenger Side:

(1) Install the seat position sensor (See page

18 INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK COVER

(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the front seat back cover with 4 new hog rings

(b) Install the 2 casing caps.

(c) Install the 2 screw caps with the 2 nuts

(d) Install 3 new wiring harness clamps as shown in the illustration

(e) Cut each wiring harness clamp 3 to 10 mm (0.118 to 0.394 in.) from the stopper, as shown in the

illustration

20 INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK SPRING ASSEMBLY

(a) Engage the 4 hooks and install the front seat back spring

(b) Install the 2 pieces of hook tape

(c) Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings

21 INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

(a) Align the protruding portions of the front seat headrest support with the installation grooves of the front seat back spring

(b) Engage the 12 claws and install the 6 front seat headrest supports

22 INSTALL FRONT CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT GUIDE

(a) Align the pin of the front center seat outer belt guide with the installation hole in the front seat back spring

(b) Install the front center seat outer belt guide with the

23 INSTALL FRONT SEAT BACK ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front seat back with the 4 bolts

Torque: 42 N*m (430 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)

24 INSTALL FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER LH

(a) Install the front seat hinge cover with the 2 screws

25 INSTALL FRONT SEAT HINGE COVER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side

26 INSTALL FRONT CENTER SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

(a) Push in the lock button of the front seat headrest support and install the front center seat headrest
