Trang 51 Introduction
I Background & problem
First, we are going to talk about the background of the problem Bullying is briefly defined as “unwanted, aggressive behavior among school-aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.” (stopbullying.gov, 2020)
There are a variety of reasons why students exhibit mental bullying behaviors towards others which include: financial problems, learning ability, gender, social class, … Especially for students, a study suggested that the “perceived pressure to bully was likely to come from within the friendship group, and that some students bully to maintain this inclusion and hence confirm a sense of belonging to their friendship group.” (Burns et al 2008) This can be further demonstrated in the illustration below:
Figure 1 Peer Group as an Influence on Initiation and Persistence of Bullying :
Bullying can cause chronic memory issues, absence at school, academic problems, mental breakdown, anxiety, depression, self-isolation, shyness and social phobia Some studies have demonstrated that the effects of bullying victimization go beyond the development of depression, anxiety and social exclusion Bullying is shown to “not only elevated levels of social isolation, depression and anxiety [ ] but also, especially girls and bully-victims, increased self-harm behaviours and suicidal ideations.”(Arseneault et al 2010)
Furthermore, the effect of bullying is not fleeting, but a long-lasting one, with “young victims of bullying continue to have adjustment difficulties in late adolescence and early adulthood.” (Arseneault et al 2010) Problems experienced by victims are not merely minor difficulties but include severe problems such as psychotic symptoms and suicidal ideations
Trang 6However, the problems don’t only stop there, as it is also a social problem, causing low morale, increased crime rate, increased suicide rate, leaving families and communities devastated and grief Another research capitalizing on criminal offences in the UK police register found out that boys who were bully-victims in childhood had an increased risk of committing repeated criminal offences between the ages of 16 and 20, whether or not they also had psychiatric symptoms in childhood (Sourander et al 2007) In addition, it can lead to
an increased risk of psychoactive drug abuse and drinking problems
II Solution
Our project hence is formed with the name of “You are not alone” for FPT University students and professors to first, help to construct a friendly and bullying-free environment suitable for academic pursuit as well as to give students a platform to share their stories and hardships
We plan to create an engaging community on our social media platform through the use of informative posts and events, as well as conducting a survey about the current bullying situation in FPT University at first and expand more to the campus communities at large
2 Procedures
We have approached our target for our anti-bullying campaign by doing the survey on the campus and creating a fanpage where we can spread our influence to everyone and making a short movie to spread influence Our campaign will last until the end of 6 weeks
The project’s plan:
● Week 1 to 2:
○ Conduct a survey in FPT university promote it by posting the survey to FPT University Students’ Official Facebook page
● Week 3 to the end of the project:
○ Create a fanpage on Facebook and upload posts every week
● Week 4 to 6:
○ Make a short movie, upload the movie to the fanpage, and share the short movie
I Survey
Our group had conducted a survey on our school since the start of the project We conducted a survey to know more about the problem of school violence on the campus We selected the question based on many sources like newspapers and social media, Our list of questions include:
Trang 7● Are you studying at FPT University?
● What major are you studying in?
● You are?
● Have you ever been bullied at school?
● What do you think about school violence at school?
● Do you feel safe at school?
● Have you witnessed or experienced some form of psychological bullying at school?
● What do you do when you are bullied?
● If you do not choose to report to others, what are your reasons?
● What would you do if you ever saw bullying behavior at school?
● If you don't report the bullying you see, what are your reasons?
● If you have ever reported school violence, who did you report it to?
● What do you think of the school's anti-bullying facility system?
● Would you be interested if there was a confession page about school violence? Our survey aims at the students of the campus and university across Ho Chi Minh city Due to the covid pandemic, we can’t conduct a survey directly so we conduct it on our school Facebook fanpage and google form

Trang 8I Short film
short film was the most challenging part for us
● Total weeks: 5 weeks
● First 4 weeks: Writing the screenplay,
● Final week: Rewriting, filming, voice acting and editing,
OUR AIM
write something different Our aim for this short is to provide the audience a newer perspective
of our mind The short film portraits a young man named K struggling with his fears and negative thoughts wanting to be happy He always blames others for his pain but never looks
inside of him because he is afraid of his demons He is afraid to suffer more if he faces him
LOGLINE
Dark Moon in front of his house collapsing into pieces, must confront his ultimate fear to escape
his world
UNCUT STORY Act 1
In the sky, a huge, damaged, dark object is collapsing For him, it’s like watching something that
he can’t control When it hits the ground, everything will turn into an apocalypse (metaphor for his collapsing and ending up doing extremely negative things to himself) Being alone in his world, his only ‘friend’ is his imaginary one whom K shares his thoughts with On day 732, K suddenly sees multiple ghost figures (his shadows, his past) levitating in the sky, signaling an
urgence that needs to be dealt with, if not, that day will be K’s final day
Act 2
look at them A phone call comes from his computer Hearing the ring, he slowly approaches his computer and picks up Strangely, K hears a voice that is identical to himself He told K to work with him to control the Moon, preventing it from reaching the ground Being unable to trust him, K sees him as a stranger Immediately, the door in his room is suddenly locked by an indestructible otherworldly wall On the wall, there’s a lock The Stranger convinced him to believe in him, leading up to the appearance of a weird and forgotten machine - a machine that
is connected to K’s mind and emotion
Trang 9One of the ghosts in the sky has broken into his house, searching for K He and the stranger must work together to ‘control’ the ghost, convincing them to find the key hidden in his house K has to break out of the room He opened the ‘software’, finding out that it’s a monitoring software that can control the ghosts (control his negative emotions and mindset)
into the house - appears in front of him Now, K has to talk to them to find the key elsewhere in the house At first, K is scared by them only to find out that they are surprisingly mindless K manages to control the ghost searching for the key Unfortunately, the key is not there! But he found out that it is the ghost in his house that controls the Dark Moon
Act 3
his bathroom, hearing the violent knocking from outside Being in extreme pressure, he finally gains courage and prepares to face them, asking about the key After being convinced by the ghost that there is no key, K can make one He shut down the computer, seeing the key is in
front of him, inside his own room
Dark Moon is not there anymore, replaced with a glowing, large diamond Later he found out
that the caller doesn’t exist The caller is himself all along
MEANING
easily and feel better than ever Therefore, we solve the bullying problems more effectively and the victims will find a great way to heal themselves

4 ANALYSIS
I Survey
First, we planned to conduct a survey in FPT University and promoted it by posting the survey to FPT University Students’ Official Facebook page to gain further insights into the current bullying status at the campus
The survey came with 109 answers and 63.4% of students believed that bullying is a big problem that needs to be solved and 70.4% had suffered from mental bullying This is far more than we expected when the research of PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center showed only one of five (20.2%) reported being bullied Moreover, 30.3% of them chose to ignore it if they see other students being bullied and this is a little bit lower than the statistic of 46% of bullied students report notifying an adult at school about the incident (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2019)
