Trang 4PART A: INTRODUCTION
I Reasons for the study
In recent years, education reform is taking place strongly in Vietnam to meet the needs of society The goal of education must also change to be more student-oriented; The goal of education is not that students pass more or less exams, but rather what prepares them for life The innovation orientation of education is
"Teaching must combine literacy, teaching and career orientation, contributing to the transition from an education that is heavy on knowledge transmission to an education that develops comprehensively both in terms of quality and quantity and ability, harmonizes virtue, intelligence, body, beauty and brings out the best potential of each student”
To meet the innovation requirements of education, there are many models and solutions proposed by educational researchers In particular, the term that is mentioned a lot nowadays is "cognitive constructivism" "Cognitive constructivism" takes the point of view of building new knowledge based on old knowledge or previously known experiences, studied and researched by many researchers And the view of cognitive constructivism is: Learning is the process by which individuals form their own knowledge, which is the process by which individuals organize activities to explore and discover the outside world and restructure them in the form
of cognitive maps
According to Circular No 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 26, 2018 of the Minister of Education and Training, the basic objective of the General Education Program in English is to help students form and develop their communication capacity through training in listening, speaking, reading, writing and language knowledge (phonics, vocabulary, grammar) Communication skills and language literacy are built on the basis of specific communicative competence units, in themes and topics relevant to the needs and abilities of high school students to help them meeting the requirements specified in the 6-level Foreign Language Competency Framework for Vietnam (issued according to the Circular No 01/2014/TT-BGDĐT dated January 24, 2014 of the Minister of Education and Training), specifically, students finishing high school get Level 3
In the 4.0 era, the application of IT in teaching is a necessity Thus, teachers should not only apply information technology to present knowledge but also apply information technology to be able to interact with students Especially, in the school year 2021-2022, the covid-19 epidemic across the country was complicated, so students mainly study online However, at present, most teachers only use IT to present knowledge in a monotonous way, so the learning process of students is less interactive, which makes students distract from the lesson and feel boring, causing negative impacts on the quality of teaching To meet the interactive needs in online teaching like face-to-face learning, we have come to Inknoe ClassPoint software This is a powerful interactive tool integrated into Microsoft PowerPoint to help
Trang 5teachers not need to use too much software in a lesson while still ensuring the presentation element and interacting with students, improving efficiency in the teaching process

or minimize the window (auto-minimizing is a Play option too.)
Step 4
When all of our students have answered, you can Close Submissions, and view the colorful bar graph displaying our audience responses Click the toggle to reveal the correct answer, and click on any of the answer choices to show which students submitted it You can also award stars
Trang 164.2 Create an Interactive Word Cloud
Creating a word cloud activity in PowerPoint can easily be done in only three steps When you are using ClassPoint, you can make these activities interactive so that you and our students can interact in real-time
Step 1: Creating Word Cloud Question
These Word Clouds can be added to any slide on our presentation To make it clear, add our word cloud button to a slide that states our question
For example, begin our presentation with an Ice Breaker question This will get students warmed up for the lesson and actively engaged while they are responding When our slide is complete, go to the Inknoe ClassPoint tab in the top ribbon This free interactive teaching PowerPoint add-in has many different features for you to use in our lessons For this example, we need to use the Word Cloud button
Move and resize the button once it appears on our slide On the side question panel, limit the number of submissions students can have
Step 2: Running our Word Cloud Question
To receive live student responses for our Word Cloud, head into presentation mode From here, students can join our class using the Class Code in the top right corner
To join, they can go to classpoint.app or scan the QR code that appears when you
click on the Class Code
When you are ready to begin our question, just click the button The question is now open and ready for submissions
Students just type and submit their answers The word cloud will begin to form in real-time and update as the submissions come in
For more information on Live status, minimizing the results window, and hiding the results, watch the video embedded above
When all the responses are in, Close the Submissions, and view our final Word Cloud
Step 3: Reviewing our Word Cloud Results
The word cloud looks great with all our student submissions However, you can dive deeper into the results to see which students have submitted which answer
By clicking on any word in the word cloud, you can view which students have submitted that specific word
In addition, highlight the top answer to see which word was submitted the most
Trang 17To save this word cloud in our presentation, insert it as a slide Otherwise, just save the results for review later These results can be viewed by clicking on the green question button, or back in PowerPoint edit mode
In PowerPoint edit mode, view the results from the side question panel When all the review and analysis is complete, these results can be cleared
4.3 Short Answer Questions for the Whole Class
Mixing up the type of questions you ask students will keep them more engaged throughout your whole lesson To ask open-ended questions and receive responses from every single one of your students, use ClassPoint This way, every student is able to voice their opinion, and you have a detailed record of it, instead of only the few that raise their hands
Step 1 Create Question Slide
To add one of these questions to your presentation, start by creating a slide with the question on it Then, from the Inknoe ClassPoint ribbon, click on the Short Answer icon to add a question button on your slide
Step 2 Run the Question and Receive Responses
Once the button is added, we can begin our presentation and begin receiving
submissions from all our students Students will need to join your class by going
to classpoint.app on any browser and using the code in the top right corner of your presentation
When our students are joined and we are ready to begin the question, just click on
the button Students will be able to begin submitting their responses
Hide the responses so that students aren’t influenced by their classmates’ answers,
or minimize the whole results window to view the question slide full screen To go
back to the results window, click back into the button
If there are still a few students that need to submit their responses, check out the live
status view to see exactly which students they are With this feature, it is easy to
offer help to those students who may be struggling with their answers
Step 3 Review the Responses
Once all the students have submitted, we can Close the Submissions After the
question is closed, it cannot be reopened and no more responses can be submitted
Trang 18A full view of all the responses will be shown We can “like” any of the answers
that really stand out to us, then filter the responses by only showing those that we have liked
Enlarge any of the answers, and ask that student to explain in a little more detail To
randomly choose a group to go over their answer, use the Pick-a-Name feature For further review and analysis after class, save these results as a slide, or click Save
for Review View the responses by clicking on the green question button, or back in
PowerPoint edit mode from the side question panel
4.4 Slide Drawing
There are many ways you can do a drawing activity in your classroom Students can draw with a pencil and paper, draw on a worksheet -printed or digital, or use an EdTech tool
With ClassPoint, an interactive presentation tool integrated with Microsoft PowerPoint, students can draw right on their teacher’s PowerPoint slide using their
own devices ClassPoint’s slide drawing activity enables teachers to send students
a slide for them to annotate or draw on, all within PowerPoint
4.4.1 Write vocabulary words
Have your students write on our slides Writing with slide drawing is simple fun,
and handwriting (slide drawing or on paper) helps the brain process information
We can ask them a question and have them write their answer, the vocabulary word
we are looking for or label a diagram
4.4.2 Complete a concept or visual aid
Have students draw on our slide or on a worksheet to complete a concept demonstrated through a visual aid such as an image, diagram, graph, or drawing For example, students can complete a life cycle in science or the timeline of a story They can draw arrows, an object, and or vocabulary words right on our slide to demonstrate their understanding
4.4.3 Answer a question by annotating
Use a student drawing tool to have students answer quiz questions They can complete matching questions, circle the correct multiple choice answer, draw on a
Trang 19graph, or do a mini drawing to answer a question like draw how you feel, or the outcome of an equation
Instead of only clicking on their devices (or maybe shouting their answer), drawing using their finger, touch screen pen, or pencil and paper to answer questions can allow them to have a little fun with in-class quiz questions
4.5 Fill in the blanks
Unlike traditional Fill in the Blanks on pen and paper, ClassPoint’s Fill in the Blanks allows teachers to have participants submit single word answers right from PowerPoint Teachers are not only able to maximize full participation, but also get
to automatically grade submissions with every correct answer set for each question
Step 1 Preparation
Prepare Fill in the Blanks question, the click on Fill in the Blanks button
Step 2 Collecting answers
Start your lesson and click on “Fill in the Blanks” button and collect students’ answers
Trang 20If we set the time, itself will finish or we can click on “Close submission” to finish
Step 3 Getting results
Step 4 Awarding stars to correct answers
