VIET NAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HO CHI MINH CITY AN GIANG UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES INTERNSHIP REPORT SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE INTERNSHIP AT AN GIANG FRUIT - V

OBJECTIVES

After four years of study in the Faculty of Foreign Languages at AGU, students acquire a solid foundation in English translation and interpretation However, the lack of practical environments for skill exchange highlights the significance of a two-month internship for final-year students This experience allows them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, while being mentored by experienced professionals Internships provide valuable insights into the realities of a career in the field, enhancing students' understanding and readiness for their future roles.

Internships provide students with valuable experience that enhances their resumes, making them more appealing to potential employers Many employers prefer candidates with prior experience, and without any job history, a resume may fail to attract attention By completing an internship, students not only acquire essential skills but also strengthen their job applications.

Internships play a crucial role in enhancing students' knowledge and skills while providing valuable networking opportunities During these experiences, instructors can serve as mentors, offering guidance and insights that are beneficial for career development Ultimately, completing an internship equips students with the professional skills necessary for success in their future careers.

This report highlights three key areas: an introduction to ANTESCO company and my department, a description of my work during the internship, and my conclusions on the lessons learned, along with recommendations for ANTESCO and An Giang University for future students.

Cyanobacteria are the primary producers of geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB), which contribute to undesirable taste and odor in drinking water and fish globally Recently, there has been an increase in outbreaks of cyanobacterial blooms in various water bodies.

The Tri An and Dau Tieng Reservoirs in Vietnam have increasingly raised concerns regarding taste and odor issues.

The present study identified the off-flavor compounds geosmin and 2-MIB in field samples and 50 isolated strains of planktonic cyanobacteria from Dau Tieng and Tri An Reservoirs For the first time, these compounds were screened using headspace solid-phase micro-extraction and gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HPME GC–MS) The ability to produce off-flavor compounds was linked to the presence of two molecular markers: geoA and mib Results indicated that mean concentrations of geosmin and 2-MIB ranged from 13.3 to 9.6 ng/L and 4.9 to 101.7 ng/L, respectively, in field samples, with a total of five strains producing geosmin.

The internship report by instructor Do Thi Ngoc Nhi highlights the identification of five geosmin-producing strains with a maximum concentration of 272.9 ng/g wet weight (ww) and nine strains producing 2-MIB, with the highest concentration reaching 362.1 ng/g ww These strains belong to two genera of cyanobacteria, Dolichospermum and Oscillatoria, with four of the geosmin producers also capable of producing 2-MIB The maximum likelihood (ML) tree analysis of 16S rRNA demonstrated a high diversity among the isolated strains, representing various morpho-types and genotypes Additionally, BLAST searches revealed the genetic sequences of the 16S rRNA obtained during the research.

The BLAST searches revealed that the cứu này so với các trình tự có sẵn từ

The 16S rRNA gene sequences obtained from the GenBank database in this study show similarity values ranging from 96.46% to 99.37% This is the first report in Vietnam regarding off-flavor compound-producing cyanobacteria The combination of HPME GC–MS and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) provides a robust tool for reliably characterizing these off-flavor compounds Our results emphasize that the taste and odor-producing cyanobacteria belonging to the Chroococcales order in Vietnamese waters remain unexplored and require further investigation.

Vietnamese waters are unexplored and

Suggestion

1 Suggestion for the internship company

The company offers numerous opportunities for students to gain valuable experience in a professional setting, enhancing their skills for future success However, I would like to propose some suggestions for improvement.

Internship report INSTRUCTOR: DO THI NGOC NHI

- This is the first time the company accepts internship English major students; therefore, the document translation guidance depends heavily on technological equipment

- The jobs assigned to the intern students are very practical, but not diverse

2 Suggestion for AGU and the Faculty of Foreign languages

The AGU and the Faculty of Foreign Languages are dedicated to assisting students in securing internships, which are essential for reinforcing their knowledge, gaining valuable experience, and fostering self-awareness As a senior, I recognize the significance of obtaining practical experience prior to graduation Therefore, I would like to offer several recommendations.

The Faculty should collaborate with organizations to create impactful programs for students, including talent recruitment, mentoring initiatives, and career camps This partnership will indirectly contribute to the development of successful career paths tailored for students.

This internship offers students a valuable opportunity to enhance their knowledge and develop essential skills, although the duration is slightly shorter for seniors who receive guidance from the company.
