Vietnam central bank chief says it can provide liquidity to the banking system

Vietnam's central bank is willing to provide liquidity to the local banking system, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong said on Sunday, as lenders face pressure from higher interest rates and tightening credit conditions

Hong confirmed that the central bank had held emergency meetings during the week with commercial banks to discuss liquidity in the system, which Reuters reported on Friday

"The State Bank of Vietnam is ready to provide liquidity to help credit institutions to

maintain their payment capability," Hong told national broadcaster VTV, while

adding that the situation is now moving in a "positive direction"

The central bank has this year raised its policy rates by a combined 200 basis points and allowed the dong to weaken, with the currency down 6% against the U.S dollar in the last three months The stock market .VNI has fallen by more than 20% over the past three months

1 Let me see, I was once a huge fan of Korean historical series, and in those films, there were these stunning palaces (những cung điện tuyệt đẹp) with authentic (chân thật) Korean backgrounds, so being able to see these palaces for the first time with my very own eyes is in my to-do list in the next few years. 

2 Without a shadow of a doubt (không nghi ngờ gì nữa), I would go with a modern house, for safety reasons I have witnessed numerous degraded old buildings go up

in flames (bốc cháy), and just for that, I would never think of setting my foot in (đặt chân đến) these places

3 I reckon if it is for the purpose of (với mục đích)tourism, or historical value, then yes, old buildings should be kept around (giữ xung quanh) Other than that, I don’t see any reasons why we should leave them as they are
