2 LỜI YÊU CẦU, ĐỀ NGHỊ: (Đề nghị, yêu cầu ai đó làm gì)

- Đồng ý: Sure / Ok / All right.

- Từ chối: I’m sorry, I can’t / I’m afraid not.

EX: Will you turn on the light for me, please? - Sure.

Cách nối 2 câu dùngin order to / so as to:

Câu thứ nhất viết lại và giữ nguyên, sử dụng 1 trong 2 cụm in order to hoặc so as to, ở câu thứ 2 chúng ta chỉ lấy phần đứng sau can, cound, want to / wants to / wanted to (nếu có).

EX: The boy runs very fast He wants to catch the bus.

→ The boy runs very fast in order to catch the bus.

Miss Lien finished her work very quickly.She could get home early.

→ Miss Lien finished her work very quickly so as to get home early.

4 PASIVE OF SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE: Bị động của thì Hiện Tại Đơn

S + is/ am / are + V 3 / Ved + (by + O)

EX: Marycleans the house every week.

→ The house is cleaned by Mary every week.

5 PASIVE OF SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE: Bị động của thì Tương Lai Đơn

S + will + be + V 3 / Ved + (by + O)

EX: Peoplewill buy this house next week.

→ This house will be bought next week.

6 Pasive of Simple Past Tense: Bị động của thì QUÁ KHỨ ĐƠN

S + was / were + V 3 / Ved + (by + O)

EX: Marycleaned the house last week.

→ The house was cleaned by Mary last week.

7 Pasive of Present Perfect Tense: Bị động của thì HIỆN TẠI HOÀN THÀNH

EX: Lancehas won the race.

→ The race has been won by Lance.

Lưu ý:

- Trạng từ chỉ thời gian sẽ được đặt ở cuối câu Trạng từ chỉ nơi chốn đặt trước “by”.

- Nếu S trong câu chủ động là They, You, We, I hoặc People, Someone, Everyone, … ta có thể bỏ

đi khi chuyển sang câu bị động.

8 REQUESTS: Lời đề nghị

* Yêu cầu ai làm gì: Would you mind / Do you mind + V_ing ?

* Xin phép ai làm gì: Do you mind + If + I + Vinf ……… ?

Would you mind + If + I + V2 / Ved ……….?

- Đồng ý: Not at all / No, I don’t mind / No, of course not / Please do.

- Từ chối: I’m sorry, I can’t / I’d rather you didn’t.

EX : Woud you mind cleaning the board ? - Not at all.

Do you mind if Isit here? - No, of course not.

Would you mind if Isat here? - I’d rather you didn’t.

9 PAST CONTINUOUS/ PROGRESSIVE TENSE: Thì Quá khứ Tiếp diễn

Past Continuous Tense được dùng để diễn tả:

- Một hành động đang xảy ra tại một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ.

EX: Mary was reading an English book at two o’clock yesterday.

- Một hành động đang xảy ra trong quá khứ thì bị một hành động khác xen vào.

S 1 + Past Continuous + when + S2 + Simple Past

When + S 1 + Simple Past, S 2 + Past Continuous

V2/Ved was/were + V_ing

EX: I was watching TV when she came home.

When she came home, I was watching television.

S 1 + Simple Past + While + S2 + Past Continuous

EX: While John was reading a book, the phone rang.

The phone rang while John was reading a book.

10 S + be + always + V-ing:

Thể hiện ý than phiền, phàn nàn về một việc gì đó mà mình hay người khác thường hay làm, hay mắc phải (thói quen xấu)

EX: I am always getting up late (Tôi toàn thức dậy trễ)

These students are always playing games a lot.

11 COMPOUND WORDS: Từ ghép

Chúng ta kết hợp một danh từ (N) với một Gerund (V_ing) để tạo thành 1 tính từ kép.

N + V-ing → Adjective

To arrange flowers → flower-arranging

To export rice → rice-exporting

12 REPORTED SPEECH: Statements (Câu tường thuật: Câu trần thuật)

EX: Direct: She said, “My brother is a student”

Indirect: She said that her brother was a student.

S + said + that + S + V (đổi thì) + O …

S + told + O + that + S + V (đổi thì) + O … (said to → told)

13 REPORTED SPEECH: Yes/No Questions ( Câu tường thuật: Câu hỏi Yes/No)

Để đổi 1 câu hỏi dạng trả lời Yes/No thành câu tường thuật, ta thêm “If” hoặc “Whether”

S + asked + O + if / whether + S + V (đổi thì) + O … EX: Direct: He said, “Do you like football?”

Indirect: He asked if I liked football.

Direct: He said to Nam, “Do you like football?”

Indirect: He asked Nam if he liked football.

Quy tắc chuyển đổi thì, trạng từ chỉ thời gian và nơi chốn ở câu tường thuật
