Abstract:
Treating alum groundwater via precipitation reaction between dissolving iron ion and sulfide ion created by sulfate reducing bacteria-SRB is attracting interest of many scientists in the world because of high treatment efficiency, economy and environmental safety In this study,
we investigate efficiency of treating domestic alum-infected sewage by anaerobic tank and sulfate reducing bacteria-SRB After eight days treating, experimental results have shown that pH value of sewage sample increased from 3.8 to 7.4, H2S content increased twice and Iron ion [Fe2+] decreased twice The experimental results open a promising direction in treatment
of water and other alum-infected water sources to improve the life quality
