Conditions d'environnement

All measurements specified in this standard must be conducted in an area free from significant electromagnetic fields With the exception of the measurement in Article 13, all specified measurements should take place in a dark room Special attention must be given to avoid illumination from reflections caused by the environment (such as tabletops and walls) and direct lighting from instrument indicators.

Il convient qu'une heure de préchauffage précède les mesures de 7.2, 9.2, 10.2, 11.2 et 14.2, sauf spécification contraire du fabricant de l'appareil.

It is essential that the voltage and frequency of the power supply match the specified values provided by the cathode ray tube display manufacturer To ensure that the power supply voltage remains within 5% of the assigned value, a stabilized power supply should be used when there are fluctuations in the mains voltage.

When the settings deviate from the manufacturer's specifications, the actual position or corresponding value must be recorded alongside the measurement results The arrangement of equipment for non-contact measurements should adhere to the guidelines illustrated in Figure 1 This equipment includes a non-contact spectroradiometer or colorimeter, depending on the characteristics being measured The optical axis of the instrument must be perpendicular to the center of the cathode ray tube (CRT) display, and the distance \(d\) should be greater than or equal to \(4h\).

It is advisable to take precautions to ensure that vibrations do not affect the measurements and that no image elements are missing from the instrument's field of view.

LICENSED TO MECON Limited - RANCHI/BANGALORE FOR INTERNAL USE AT THIS LOCATION ONLY, SUPPLIED BY BOOK SUPPLY BUREAU.

The tristimulus values, denoted as X′, ′, and ′, are normalized by Y n (cd/m²) for peak white The effective height and width of the CRT display are represented by h and w, respectively Additionally, the distance (d) between the faceplate of the CRT display and the measuring instrument must be at least four times the effective height (d ≥ 4h).

All measurements outlined in this standard must be conducted in an environment devoid of significant electromagnetic fields and in a dark room, with the exception of those specified in clause 13 It is crucial to minimize reflected light from surrounding objects, such as desktops and walls, as well as direct light from indicators on measuring instruments.

One hour of warm-up time should precede the measurements in 7.2, 9.2, 10.2, 11.2 and 14.2, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer of the equipment.

To ensure optimal performance of a CRT display, it is essential that the mains voltage and frequency adhere to the manufacturer's specified rated values In cases of voltage fluctuations, utilizing a regulated power supply is crucial to keep the supply voltage within 5% of the rated value.

Other environmental conditions such as room temperature and relative humidity shall be reported together with the results of the measurements.

If additional environmental conditions are described in the manufacturer’s specifications, these should be taken into account.

To ensure accurate measurements of CRT displays, it is essential to set the contrast, brightness, and additional adjustments according to the manufacturer's specifications If these settings deviate from the recommended values, the actual positions must be documented alongside the measurement results For non-contact measurements, the equipment should be arranged as depicted in Figure 1, utilizing either a spectroradiometer or a non-contact colorimeter based on the specific characteristics being measured Additionally, the optical axis of the instrument must be perpendicular to the center of the CRT display's surface, with a minimum distance of 4 units maintained.

To ensure accurate measurements, it is essential to take precautions against vibrations and to avoid any missing picture elements within the measuring instrument's field of view.

If the uncertainty from the colorimeter does not meet this recommendation, correction methods are available to enhance the accuracy of measurements on cathode ray displays (see references [1], [2], and [13]).

The equipment layout should adhere to either Figure 1 or Figure 2 The cathode ray tube (CRT) display must be powered off for more than 2 hours prior to measurement The initial reading should be recorded 1 minute after the CRT is powered on.

Méthode de mesure

To achieve a uniform white color across the entire surface of a cathode ray tube display, the input data D R = M, D V = M, D B = M must be applied, where M = 2N - 1 and N represents the number of bits per channel The luminance Y, measured in candelas per square meter, along with the chromatic coordinates y and x from the CIE 1931 standard, should be recorded at the center of the screen every minute for a duration of 2 hours The average luminance Y over time must be calculated accordingly.

Environmental conditions

All measurements outlined in this standard must be conducted in an environment devoid of significant electromagnetic interference Except for the measurements specified in clause 13, all tests should take place in a dark room It is crucial to minimize reflected light from surrounding objects, such as desks and walls, as well as direct light from the indicators of measuring instruments.

One hour of warm-up time should precede the measurements in 7.2, 9.2, 10.2, 11.2 and 14.2, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer of the equipment.

To ensure optimal performance of a CRT display, the mains voltage and frequency must align with the manufacturer's specified ratings In cases of voltage fluctuations, it is essential to utilize a regulated power supply to keep the supply voltage within 5% of the rated value.

Other environmental conditions such as room temperature and relative humidity shall be reported together with the results of the measurements.

If additional environmental conditions are described in the manufacturer’s specifications, these should be taken into account.

Conditions of measurements

To ensure accurate measurements of CRT displays, contrast, brightness, and other adjustments must align with the manufacturer's specifications If adjustments deviate from these specifications, the actual settings should be documented alongside the measurement results For non-contact measurements, the equipment should be arranged as depicted in Figure 1, utilizing either a spectroradiometer or a non-contact colorimeter based on the specific characteristics being measured It is essential that the instrument's optical axis is perpendicular to the center of the CRT display's surface, with a minimum distance of 4 units maintained.

To ensure accurate measurements, it is essential to take precautions against vibrations and to ensure that no picture elements are absent from the measuring instrument's field of view.
