The mechanical stability of bulk packaging during storage, transport, and use is crucial to ensure that the components remain securely in place without damage and can be easily removed.
Bulk packaging must include a designated area for a removable label The label should be placed on the front and on the side where the closure mechanism is located, as shown in Figure 1.

Information can be provided in standard text or in a format suitable for automatic reading, such as OCR, barcodes, or magnetic codes For barcodes, it is advisable to use Code 39, as specified in ISO/IEC 16388 When it comes to optical character recognition (OCR), the recommended format is OCR B.

Bulk cases defined in Figures 1 and 2 shall be permanently and visibly marked with an appropriate recycling symbol.
Mechanical characteristics
Mechanical stability of loaded bulk cases during storage, transport and use shall be such that the components are retained without damage and that they can be easily removed.
The bulk case shall provide space for a peelable label The label shall be fixed onto the front and the shutter mechanism side as shown in Figure 1.
The marking on the label shall comply with the requirements of the detail specification of the component.

For optimal data capture, it is advisable to utilize barcode 39 in accordance with ISO/IEC 16388 standards, while for optical character recognition (OCR), the recommended format is OCR B.

This packaging technique can be applied to small sized surface mounting devices, for example certain capacitors, resistors and other electronic or electromechanical components.
Typical quantities for specific sizes of capacitors and resistors are shown in Tables A.1, A.2 and A.3.

When the original removable label is not removed and another label is placed over it, such as when bulk packaging is reused, labels of the same composition must be used If a plastic label is utilized, its composition must be specified on the label in accordance with ISO 11469.
When bulk packaging is stored at temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +50 °C and a relative humidity of 45% to 75%, the label must be removable from the bulk packaging for reuse.

When reusing a bulk case, it is essential to leave the original peelable label intact and apply a new label over it, ensuring that both labels are made from the same material If a plastic label is utilized, the material must be clearly indicated on the label.
C.2 Adhesive property of the label
Labels must be easily peelable from bulk cases stored at temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +50 °C and relative humidity levels between 45% and 75% before they can be reused.
