1 Scope

This p rt of ISO10 9 specifies the loa rating s of

the metric series of rub er sold ty res for pneumatic

ty re rims primari y intended for industrial v ehicles

for use on prep red sur aces

Desig nation, dimensions and marking are cov ered

in ISO10 9 -1; rim contour fit ing these ty res are

specified in ISO3 3 -3

For the purposes of this p rt of ISO10 9 , the

definitions g iv en in ISO3 7 -4, ISO42 3-2

4.1 Dimensional and c nstructional

characteristics

The serv ice des ription shal be indicated as folows:

4.2.1 Load index

The loa index is a n merical code as ociated with

the ma imum loa a ty re can car y at the spe d

indicated b its spe d sy mbol, u der the serv ice

conditions specified b the ty re man facturer

The cor elation betwe n loa indices and ty re

loa -car y ing ca acities shal be as g iv en in Ta le 1

4.2.2 Spe d symb l

The spe d sy mbol shal be as g iv en in Ta le 2 The

spe d sy mbol or spe d categ ory indicates the

reference spe d, defined as the spe d at which the

ty re can car y the loa cor esponding to its loa

index u der the specified serv ice conditions

5 Marking

The marking shal consist of

a) the desig nation of the dimensional and

constructional characteristic ac ording to

ISO10 9 -1;

b) the desig nation of the serv ice des ription ( loa

index and spe d sy mbol

The location of the marking of the serv ice

des ription ( loa index and spe d sy mbol shal be

distinct but in the v icinity of the marking of the

dimensional and constructional characteristic

7 Tyr load- carrying capacities

7.1 General

7.1.1 I pos ible, the reference loa s or loa indices

respectiv ely of rub er sol d ty res for pneumatic ty re

rims should be a justed to those of the pneumatic

ty res of the same siz desig nation and the hig hest

ex isting loa index n mber in order to as ure

equiv alence or inter hang ea i ity

pneumatic tyre rims is not taken into ac ou t when conv rting

in ustrial v hicles fom pneumatic tyres to sold ty res

7.2.2 The10 % reference loa -car y ing ca acity is

the loa cor esponding to the loa index marked on

the ty re

two ty res is twice that for a sing le ty re
