1 Scope

This BritishStand rd specifies the materials,

dimensions, finish and inspection req uirements for

cad mium plated ste l bolts with hex g onal hea s

an Unified threa s for air raft use

2 General requirement

The bolts shal be man factured , inspected and

tested in ac ord ance with the requirements of

BSA10

3 Ma teria l and manufa ctur

3.1 The bolts shal be forg ed f om material which

comples with the latest is ue of one of the fol owing

BritishStand ard s:

3.2 In the finaly heat-treated cond ition, the

mechanical pr operties of the material used for

forg ed bolts shal be as folows:

4.1 All bolts, after a plcation of the ant-cor osion

coating , shal conform to the dimensions an

tolerances g iv en in Ta le1 and Ta le 2 or

Appendix A

4.2 The ru -out of the threa shal comply with the

relev ant req uirements of BS A10

4.3 The nominal leng th of the bolt shal be the

bearing leng th L

4.4 Dimensions of ov er iz bolts are g iv en in

Appendix A

6 Anti- cor osion trea tment

All bolts shal be coated with cad mium, in

ac ord nce with the relev ant req uirements of

BSA10

7 Identifica tion and marking

The bolts shal be marked on the top face of the hea

with the number of this BritishStand ard and the

relev ant p rt n mber shown in Ta le 2,

e.g 2A2 9E62
