Trang 6Flexible Independent UE Test Mode
Introduction to the basic functions of the
independent UE test mode
Being developed on the basis of Huawei commercial UE platforms,
such as U626, U636, U1205, U1307,U1251,U6100 and U120e, this
mode provides powerful functions and is easy to use.
This mode supports the network of the WCDMA, GSM, and GPRS,
such as the U626, U636, and U535, but does not support the EDGE.
This mode can be used as the terminal for the drive test.
This mode supports the function of locking a UARFCN or a
scrambling code of a WCDMA network.
Being a practical test mode, the
independent UE test mode:
Provides rich and categorized items for observation
Graphically displays the key items
Imports the indoor test map.
Advantages
The independent UE test mode:
Improves the flexibility of drive test and enables you to learn the
Test mode

2 Connect the Probe to the dongle
3 Connect the hardware test devices Pay attention to the ports.
4 Set Test Plan.
5 Import engineering parameters Open the map window and import the
relevant test map (Optional)
6 Open the window to view the test parameters that you need to view, such
as the Power Control, Serving/ActiveSet and NeighboringCell, and WCDMA Bler.

Note: If you do not plan to start automatic test through Test Plan, you
need to click Start Test to start testing manually.
Trang 8Introduction to the Interface of
Trang 9The drop-down list shows multiple terminals Terminals that support the GSM or GPRS test but do not support the EDGE test are Huawei U626, U636, U1251 and U535.
Terminals that support the GSM, GPRS or EDGE test are Huawei E620, E630 card, U120E, U1205,U1307 and
U6100.
Huawei recommends that Huawei U120E or U1205 be used as terminal
Note: The U120e/U6100 supports the 900/1800/1900 frequency band, and the U1205 supports the 850/1800/1900
frequency band.

Test Plan Configuration Before Test
Trang 19• Continuous: If the call setup failure, call drop or call hang-up does not occur, the call continues If the call
setup failure, call drop or call hang-up occurs, the Probe waits for one call interval to originate another call.
• Call by call: The call terminates after the predefined call duration time and call interval The Probe repeats
calling as many times as the number predefined by count mode.
1.2 Setup time: indicates the maximum time for call setup If the call is not successfully set up in the predefined
time, the call is regarded as having failed.
1.3 Call duration: indicates the duration of a call, from call setup to call release Call duration applies to only the
interval call.
1.4 Call interval: indicates the interval between two calls, from the disconnection of the last call to the setup of the
next call.
1.5 Exceptional interval: indicates the period between the call drop and the setup of the next call.
1.6 Count mode: indicates whether the number of calls is limited If the value is finite, you can infer that the number
of calls is limited If the value is infinite, you can infer that the number of calls is unlimited.
1.7 Call Start Mode: indicates the mode in which a test terminal makes a call The values of this parameter is Idle
(default value), Waitforcallcomplete, and Unlimited When this parameter is set to Idle, MAX Wait Time (s)
can be set.

4.8 Disconnection : indicates whether to deactivate the data connection
• Keep connected:
After the target files are downloaded completely, the Probe does not conduct the PDP
deactivation while maintaining the RRC connection After an interval time, the Probe initiates
the next FTP download
• Disconnected by time:
The period for the PDP deactivation is represented by the Valid FTP Duration parameter The
Probe performs the PDP deactivation based on the period If the target files are not
downloaded completely within the predefined time, the download result shows Timeout, and
the download task is regarded as failed The Probe initiates another PDP deactivation in the
next download task
• Disconnected After transfer completed:
The Probe performs the PDP deactivation each time when the file download is complete

Note: If False is selected in Auto Dialup, only the connections on the signaling plane are set
up The connections on the service planes are not set up The signaling comprises RRC
signaling, PDP activation request, and PDP activation receive message In such a situation,
the PING service cannot be connected If True is selected, the connections on both the
signaling and service planes are set up That is, the PC< > Mobile phone < > CN channel
is set up for establishing dialup connection and providing services

DL max rate: indicates the maximum downlink rate
UL guaranteed rate: indicates the maximum uplink guaranteed rate
DL guaranteed rate: indicates the maximum downlink guaranteed rate
Note: For BE services, such as background or interactive services, you need not set UL Guaranteed
Rate or DL Guaranteed Rate because the UMTS protocol does not set specifications for the guaranteed
rate of the BE service Certain UEs do not support rate setting Thus, the setup of PS connection may fail
if you set guaranteed rate

Trang 36Supplements about APN, QoS Setting
a) If the APN or QoS is null, the Probe modifies the APN or QoS by using the AT command in the MODEM initialization command or by using the latest successful setting for the APN or QoS
b) Setting the APN, QoS or their calibration figures By using the AT command through the MODEM In the test plans of the Probe
If the information about the APN and QoS exists in both the Probe and the modem of the UE, the UE overwrites the relevant information sent by the Probe, because the information about the AT
command is more similar to the information existing before the setup of PS service At the same time, the
relevant settings in the Probe do not take effect
