Firstly, the purpose of advertisements is to attract watchers to buy their products Many messages and exaggerations/ɪɡˌzædʒəˈreɪʃn/ are not true But the young people believe and demand parents buy them which influences buying better options/ young people do not understand the concept of a sales pitch They tend to believe what they are told and may even assume /əˈsuːm/ that they are deprived /dɪˈpraɪvd/ if they do not have advertised products
Next, the advertising directed toward children is related to food, many of those are unhealthy foods high in sugar, fats, and salt Under the influence of such ads, children tend to demand to buy more unhealthy foods, leading to obesity and other diseases
