1 Tenses: Simple present, present continuous, simple future, past simple, past continuous,

present perfect, past perfect…

* Past Perfect (Quá Khứ Hoàn Thành)

Thì quá khứ hoàn thành được dùng để diễn đạt:

a Hành động xảy ra trước một thời điểm xác định trong quá khứ.

Ex: He had finished his work before lunchtime

b Hành động xảy ra trước một hành động quá khứ khác (hành động xảy ra trước dùng past

perfect, hành động xảy ra sau dùng past simple.)

Ex: When I got up this morning, my father had already left

By the time I met you, I had worked in that company for five years

2 Phrasal verbs:

1- get up = get out of bed: thức dậy

2- find out = get information: tìm ra

3- bring out = publish/launch: xuất bản, phát hành

4- look through = read: đọc

5- keep up with = stay equal with: bắt kịp

6- look forward to = mong chờ

7- run out of = have no more of: hết sạch, cạn kiệt

20 go over= examine or check sth carefully: ôn lại, tiếp nhận, kiểm tra

4 Comparison

*You can use much, a lot, a bit and a little with the comparative forms of adjectives to show how

big the differences are

Ex: A DVD is much better than a video for watching films.

*With the superlative forms of the adjectives you can use first, second, third, etc.

Ex:Karachi in Pakistan is the second largest city in the world in population.

You can use by far to emphasize superlatives.

Ex: China is byfar the most populated country in the world.

5 Reported speech
