INTRODUCTION

Information systems in business is a solution that teaches people about information management in businesses, including how to gather, process, store, and distribute data to other departments That will provide the ultimate outcomes for resolving the business's difficulties, allowing the company to run more efficiently and gain a competitive advantage Many organizations have used information systems in the workplace today, one

of which is the field of e-commerce, which includes B2C, B2B, and C2C firms

In terms of e-commerce, this is one of the industries that has had a significant impact

on business growth in recent years The growth of this industry provides firms with several options to promote and expand their market As a result, businesses around the world, and

in particular in Vietnam, are keen to promote the growth of commerce, particularly commerce applications for agricultural products imported into the country Vietnamese agricultural products are on the decline after being heavily impacted by COVID-19, so being able to use e-commerce for the agricultural product industry will help businesses communicate and sell products professionally, quickly, and at a reasonable cost, allowing them to quickly recover their capital

e-Inspired by that concept, in the scope of this research paper, we will apply what we have learned in both "Business Information Systems" and "E-commerce" to analyze the case of a hypothetical company called LOGIFARM and how they plan to solve the project's problem, as well as simulate business processes and management using Odoo ERP software

1.1.1 The process of formation and development

Shopee is currently the most popular e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, it was established in 2015 in Singapore with the largest shareholder being a Chinese company (Tencent) and is managed by a conglomerate SEA team Shopee is known as a commerce channel that allows users to have an easy, safe and fast online shopping experience Previously, they operated under the Marketplace (C2C – Customer

to Customer) model, but now the company has expanded to B2C (Business to Customer) similar to Lazada and Tiki to help businesses more access to consumers Up to now, this business has been present in more than 6 countries in Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam

Next is Shopee Food, which is one of the most popular food delivery apps in Vietnam With ShopeeFood, customers can freely order food on many platforms such as the ShopeeFood website, ShopeeFood section of the Shopee app

According to the data of Vietnam e-commerce map just published by Iprice Insight, Shopee Vietnam only had traffic of less than 25 million at the beginning of 2018 and showed signs of going down in February, but then this number has increased, and Shopee

has become the leading platform in terms of website visits in Vietnam with more than 40 million This platform also ranked first in the mobile application ranking index on both Android and iOS operating systems

In 2019, Shopee continues to be the leading e-commerce platform in Vietnam with

an average number of visits of 33,593,224 visits, this success is due to strategies to

deliver an integrated online shopping experience with social elements and high

interactivity Not stopping there, Shopee continues to develop the Livestream section and has recorded an average of 10,000 hours of a live broadcasts on Shopee Live a day In addition, they also made a mark on customers' hearts with outstanding programs such as supporting the development of eSports in Vietnam at the 2019 Sea Games

Finally, the statistics for 2020 and the first three quarters of 2021, personal

In today's era of development, firms face increased worldwide rivalry, a more rigorous regulatory environment, and increased cost pressure Costs are thus driven by all corporate operations When Shopee first opened its doors, it faced certain fundamental charges, including:

Costs of operation and management

Customer acquisition costs (CAC) include selling and marketing charges, as well as commission, to promote the brand and persuade new customers to visit the company

WACC (weighted average cost of capital): Because each cost of capital has its own calculation, it's required to average the total cost to arrive at the best price (some charges include interest on loans and owners' equity)

The expense of developing and launching the Shopee app, as well as guaranteeing its smooth and consistent operation

Expenses for basic amenities like electricity, water, office space, and a warehouse, among others

CHAPTER 2: WHAT TYPE OF E-COMMERCE MODEL AND ITS REVENUE

MODEL 2.1 E-commerce model (B2C & C2C)

Initially, Shopee's business model was C2C, which referred to an intermediary transaction between consumers However, Shopee has recently expanded its B2C model, which refers to the buying and selling of goods and services between businesses and individuals; in this case, Shopee still serves as an intermediary Shopee connects anyone who wants to purchase or sell things in an arbitrary amount with anyone who wants to buy

or sell products online using the C2C business model Individuals can become buyers or sellers on Shopee with just a Shopee account and an Internet-connected mobile device

2.2 Revenue model

The dilemma is how to create an e-commerce platform that connects vendors and buyers, and how can Shopee recoup its losses so that it can continue to be a powerful system Individuals and organizations selling on Shopee will have a percent discount subtracted from their orders, which is commonly referred to as "commission." For example,

if the price is over 200,000 VND, Shopee will take a 2% discount, resulting in a 2,000 VND deduction from the vendor More specifically, Shopee has announced that beginning April 1, 2019, retailers on the ground will be charged a fee of 1% to 2% on each successful order;after implementing the offer, the payment fee to the floor owner is computed based

on the overall payment value of the customer for the order, which includes elements like the total price of goods and the shipping fee (if any) The payment fee applied to each order will be determined by the payment method selected by the buyer If the buyer pays on receipt (COD) or by domestic ATM card (internet banking), the seller will bear a fee of 1%; if the buyer pays by credit/debit card or credit card installment, the fee is 2 percent

Furthermore, service distribution managers have the ability to collaborate in the marketing of goods on Shopee because this is the place where millions of clicks every day bring added services based on buyer and seller data, such as credit loans and insurance for shoppers with a high level of procurement

CHAPTER 3: ANALYSIS OF THE CASE STUDY 3.1 What is the reason for the success of Shopee in Vietnam? Analyze and assess whether it is successful or fails now?

Shopee is currently the most promising e-commerce platform, surpassing many prominent competitors such as Lazada, Sendo, Tiki, and others Shopee's extraordinary performance is an abundance of human resources

To begin with, the product quality is excellent Shopee has currently constructed Shopee Mall, which is a location where customers can purchase real products with total confidence, as Shopee has carefully picked and evaluated each brand The second point to consider is price Shopee does exceptionally well when it runs monthly promotions with extremely valuable vouchers such as free shipping codes, and so on; this has stimulated customer shopping behavior and psychology Furthermore, Shopee is an excellent place for individuals and organizations to join, since it allows them to create a fully free sales channel as well as advertising and marketing campaigns to support the channel for customers to sell

3.2 Can the Logifarm project learn from Shopee?

The Logifarm initiative can study and draw lessons for their company concepts from Shopee's phenomenal success We need to design an e-commerce website with a lot of features, the convenience of use, and maximum function optimization to make customers feel comfortable Following that, photographs, information, and product prices must be clearly shown so that buyers can simply select and visualize the things they require The third aspect is that firms often update discount codes and hold weekly/monthly promotions

to entice clients to make purchases From there, it will attract new clients and keep existing ones coming back to Logifarm Finally, the brand image must place a heavy emphasis on communication on major and popular platforms in Vietnam, such as Facebook, Google, Youtube, and Zalo, as well as consistent appearances in the media, such as public transportation, television, or celebrity endorsements According to Point Perfect Technology Solutions, there are many strengths that a business can have when using Odoo ERP, which could be an implicit demonstration of Shopee's success that Logifarm should learn

On the other hand, we discovered during our investigation that Shopee still has some restrictions First, they are also businesses with B2C and C2C models, making it difficult for corporate customers to buy products in large quantities like B2B Furthermore, Shopee continues to use a variety of shipping units, which allows consumers to customize their delivery charges, although Shopee may have to split earnings for these units These are Logifarm's own perspectives; however, it is also a lesson that the company can consider innovating to suit its project, as the idea of developing an e-commerce platform based on

a B2B model dedicated to agricultural products, as well as Logifarm Logistics, is still relatively new

PART 2: DEVELOP A PLAN OF INFORMATION

STEP 1: DEFINE OUTCOME

Logifarm will create a project that is an e-commerce platform dedicated to agriculture items after learning from Shopee's experiences However, during the process of setting up and piloting, Logifarm ran into some issues with the e-commerce website it had previously built on the Wix platform As a result, Logifarm has devised an eight-step strategy to assess and re-evaluate the existing condition and development potential of this project, culminating in a decision to invest in a new information system (purchase Odoo ERP business management software) to address business challenges

1.1 Overview of the idea, identifying the potential and current problems of LOGIFARM

project is successful?

Improving agriculture to help farmers recover capital after two long years of facing many challenges and being heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest human benefit that LOGIFARM wants to aim for

Moreover, currently, the Vietnamese market has not yet exploited an e-commerce platform specializing in providing large agricultural products under the B2B model When LOGIFARM is born, it will be a pioneering trading platform to catch the new wind and easily dominate the market in the host country

Not only succeeding in dominating the market in Vietnam, but with strong

potential, but LOGIFARM can also reach out to the world with a large quantity of clean agricultural products, VietGap safety standards that meet international standards

The company's current goal is to conquer the domestic market; once this project has gained traction in the country, LOGIFARM will raise funds to expand branches to countries in Southeast Asia and beyond, including difficult European markets such as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany With such goals, LOGIFARM hopes to propel our country's agricultural product industry to new heights

Although LOGIFARM company has a good business idea, it faces many difficulties

in operating the business management and managing sales channels on the website (Wix platform)

Business management issues:

First, marketing campaigns face many difficulties Marketing strategy is implemented through multiple channels: website, Facebook/Instagram, leading to difficult results to synthesize, analyze, and give results to determine the appropriate strategy Not

Finally, there are issues with personnel management and recruitment Employee recruitment operations such as scheduling interviews, keeping track of time, and so on are managed by departments and carried out manually by sending email alerts to candidates or filling out Google Forms for confirmation It will be incredibly time-consuming and labor-intensive for LOGIFARM to recruit over 100 employees per day as the company grows.

Sales management issues on the website (Wix platform):

LOGIFARM has established a website to sell and promote brands on the Wix platform While this tool is relatively simple to use and provides a wealth of capabilities for businesses, it does have some drawbacks The collected data must first be manually aggregated Employees collect and process the outcomes of financial and marketing reports (sales, running advertising, quotes for new clients, etc.) using an intermediary platform like Google Drive or Notion This takes a long time to complete, is prone to errors, and occasionally management or other departmental workers may not understand how to utilize new software to access monitoring, such as Notion, which is only appropriate for young people

The management of inventory and balance is also a problem The inventory management tool on the Wix platform currently only has two update statuses, "out of stock" and "in stock," and it does not provide a particular quantity (see Appendix) to assist businesses in simply reviewing and planning early stocking or manufacturing As a result, LOGIFARM occasionally runs out of stock, and the quantity of supplies on hand is insufficient to meet the needs of large corporate customers, leaving them dissatisfied with the company's service

1.2 Proposal to develop an information system for the LOGIFARM project:

For the reasons mentioned above, The LOGIFARM project needs to invest in a new system to handle all information inside the organization, consequently boosting the efficiency of shipping orders and purchase orders, which can update and keep correct information from the supplier, for the reasons stated above This system, in particular, may gather and store data on manufacturing, operations, inventory management, and so on

This system is capable of analyzing marketing campaign outcomes, linking commerce websites, and assisting staff in managing new supplier ordering procedures and reviewing manufacturing processes, making it easier to gather and track information about campaigns and track success than it is to track and obtain information from suppliers The

STEP 2: FORM YOUR TEAM

The Logifarm project is a legal entity that works as a joint-stock company In terms

of organizational structure, Logifarm Joint Stock Company has leadership levels and departments, as illustrated in the diagram

The Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, and Board of Directors are the agencies that directly hold shares, supervise, provide development guidance, and administer the Logifarm company's business

The six divisions that have had the most impact on Logifarm's success are listed below on the board of directors Each department will have various responsibilities and activities The following are the specific activities of each department:

Finance and accounting: this department is in charge of budgeting and producing accounting reports They can provide relevant analysis and solutions to assist Logifarm function efficiently with a limited budget and avoid bad debts

Administration: This division is in charge of the company's legal processes, procedures, record keeping, and asset management They can provide leadership with advice on recruiting, staff training, and support for other departments

Manufacturing business: It is in charge of collecting raw materials, shipping goods/finished products to consumers, and developing new and important formulas and product lines They must maintain a high level of efficiency in the production line at all times

Marketing: This department will serve as a link between the company's image and its customers Planning product advertising campaigns, communicating on social networking platforms, and ensuring that
