I Objectives.

After the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Use the words and phrases related to the topic: comparing places.

- Asking and answering questions to compare places (adjectives with one or two

syllables)

- Listen to the recording and conplete the sentences

- Sing the song: Which one is bigger?

- Develop 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing

II.Language focus.

1 Vocabulary: Noisy, noisier, busier, large, larger, small, smaller, expensive,

exciting, peaceful.

2 Sentence Patterns:

+ Which one is … , or … ? I think.

III Teaching aids.

- Equipments in English room

- Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.

- Play a game: What’s missing?

4 Listen and write.

- Tell Ss that they are going to listen to the

recording and write one word in each gap.

- Play the recording for Students to listen

- Ask Ss to listen again and do the task

- Have them give answers

- Play the recording again for Ss to listen and

check

- Give correct answers:

1 Sydney, noiser 2 London, larger

Good morning/ afternoon!

- Play the game

- Listen to the recording the first time

- Listen again and complete

- Give the answers

- Others correct, remark

- Ss repeat the recording

5 Read and complete.

- Tell the class that they are going to read and

fill the gaps to complete the sentences

- Give Students a few times to read the

sentences

- Set a time limit for Students to do the task

independently

- Monitor the activity and offer help, if

necessary

6 Let’s sing Which one is ….?

- Ask Ss to open their Student’s book on page

7 Show the song on the board Tell them that

they are going to sing the Which one is ….?

song.

- Play the recording all the way through for

Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation,

the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of

- Work individually

- Do the task

- Give answers

- Open their Student’s book

- Listen to the T's instruction
