In this era, globalization is the trend to develop the inner power of everycountry to its maximum Therefore, we need a tool to connect everyone and makecommunication between nations easier That is the mission of English—theinternational language of the world Many parents tend to give their children toEnglish centers after school to study English with the hope that they will soon useEnglish fluently Because they think that is a perfect background for them in thefuture, and many English centers are founded for those reasons

At Rock 3T English center, staff and teachers always make an effort to bringthe best lessons for children to help them use English better Although it wasofficially founded 4 years ago, with the spirit of young people in the 21st century, allthe employees of Rock 3T in particular and Tung Tran Vietnam company in generalare trying to create a more valuable contribution to society After a 1-monthinternship at Rock 3T, I gained useful knowledge and experience in teachingEnglish Along with the assistance of the supervisor and team leader, I had anoverview of the way an educational company runs

I am thankful to the lectures of Thuongmai University’s English faculty andstaff from Rock 3T and also from Tung Tran Vietnam for supporting me tocomplete this report Because the internship is only one month and a half long, and Iworked online during that time, I cannot avoid making mistakes while writing thisreport I am eager to receive feedback from the lectures in order to improve thisreport. 

CHAPTER 1: GENERAL REVIEW OF TUNG TRAN

VIETNAM AND ROCK 3T

1 Information about Tung Tran Vietnam

1.1 General overview of the company

Tung Tran Vietnam LLC is a company that has business activities in theeducational field This company provides English courses for both children andadults Rock 3T is an English center for children under Tung Tran Vietnam LLC.With the experience of studying and working in America for many years, thefounder, Tran Thanh Tung, opened his first classes in 2014, and then Rock 3T wasofficially founded in 2018 and aims to be one of the best English centers forchildren in Hanoi The company provides educational services both online and off-line Rock 3T is a specific brand for children, and this is where I do my internship.The business of online courses for adults is managed directly by the company.Through development over 4 years, now the company has 2 branches of Rock 3T inHanoi and more than 500 teachers across the country

1.2 Business field

The company works in the field of education and the primary product is Englishclasses for many other ages All the course books are developed by the CEO andR&D department Besides offline classes, online classes are held through Zoomwith the model of 1 teacher – 1 student For children, offline classes are onlyavailable for children For adults, the company now only provides the form ofonline 1-1 classes

 English for children (Rock 3T): The main product is English programs forchildren The programs are designed to be proper with many other levels,including communication and grammar The age ranges from 5 to 15 years old,and they are divided into many other levels The entrance test will classifystudents into suitable classes

 English for adult: This course is built to help learners have the ability tocommunicate in English with the common questions in daily life and at theoffice Almost all customers are people who know a little bit about English.However, because of not using it for a long time, they can not speak Englishfluently or have a standard pronunciation.

1.3 Training program

 Online class:

- Vocabulary: This program includes 3 levels: AA, BB, and CC, and they

raise the difficulty level in the order At each level, the topic of the lessonprovides many new words with illustrated images and withoutVietnamese meaning to make students use both their memorization skillsthrough listening and viewing Besides, level CC has added commonquestions to help children get used to communicating in English and laythe foundation to go to a higher level in communicative class

- Communication: This program is separated into 3 levels, such as 1, 2 and

3 This course's students almost have a basic understanding of English butlack reflexes with questions or do not know how to answer the question

in a full sentence

- Grammar: This course is based on the national educational program for

primary and secondary schools

- Communication for adult: This course is designed for people who have a

job related to English and need to improve their English to serve theircareer purpose Because it only occurs in the form of a 1-1 online class,it’s convenient for them to arrange their free time to study

 Offline class:

Offline classes are organized depending on the age of children The model of anoffline class is 1 teacher, 1 teacher assistant, and about 15-20 students The teachingprogram for this type of class is designed with many activities

1.4 Business result of Tung Tran Vietnam

Through 4 years developing since being founded, Tung Tran Vietnam LLCprovides English courses for more than 12000 students 2 years after officiallyrunning, although COVID-19 pandamic happened, the business result was notimpacted too much Online classes were implemented eventhough before pandamicand they became the core products helping the company came through the difficultperiod The chart below shows the business result of the company in 4 years

Two images below show the structure of the company, they include thedepartments in the whole company and parts in a branch As a new company in themarket, Tung Tran Vietnam is trying to expand the scale of the their new branchsand specialize the activity of departments

2 Information about internship’s department

At Tung Tran Vietnam, I am under the management of 2 departments: thetraining and sales department but I am mainly responsible for the tasks of thetraining department

 The training department is responsible for training teachers, examiners anddeveloping the content of the main course books for different levels Everycourse has 3 tests: an entrance test, a mid-course test, and a final test.Examiners will do those tests and take note of the results for teachers Everymonth, the training department will organize an online meeting to train all ofthe teachers in the company about the method of teaching effectively and theway to cope with students' common problems through the course Teachersare often evaluated both in knowledge and skill Therefore, the trainingdepartment will propose the solution for every different case All thefeedback from teachers and examiners will help R&D staff to create andimprove the course books to become the better versions.

 Sale Department: In each branch of Rock 3T, the sales department is dividedinto many teams Every team has a team leader, sales staff, examiners, andteachers The teachers and examiners belonging to which team will work forclasses under that team Besides working as sales staff, they are also classmanagers If teachers face any problems related to classes and students, itwill be addressed by them

As regards an English center, the training department plays an important role.They need to not only research and develop course books, but they also need tomanage and train teachers to reach the standards in teaching Feedback fromstudents and their parents is crucial to helping teachers increase their ability to teachand be creative in the process of working

During my internship in Rock 3T, I was trained to be an English teacher forchildren’s classes I have a chance to be approved for both online and offlineteaching Because all of my students are children, most of whom are studying atprimary schools, teachers need to make the class have more energy My tasks in theinternship were arranged in the following process:

- Study about the company’s culture

- Listen to the introduction about the courses of the center and the suitable method of teaching for each level

- Write the report after participating in offline classes

- Learn the way to make class have more energy

3 The difficulties and experiences

2.1 Difficulties:

An internship is a chance for undergraduate students to experience practicallythe job they will do in the future and the environment in which it is done From this,students can see that not only does the work in reality conclude the knowledge atuniversity, but it also needs more than that As a result, difficulties in the internshipare unavoidable, and I am no exception

The biggest problem, to me, is a lack of teaching skills I have not been a

days of the internship I thought it was difficult to stand in front of so many studentsand teach Moreover, in an online class, the feature of it is the shortage ofinteraction That was a challenge for me when I needed to maintain the student’sanimation I was told by my supervisor that the flow of teaching was fast.Meanwhile, almost all my students were primary students, and that could makethem have difficulty following me.

Besides, when I was responsible for an online communication class, I had aproblem with teaching pronunciation Because the teacher and student onlyconnected with each other through a screen, it was more difficult to understandwhat the teacher said I tried to describe the place of every part in the mouth whenpronouncing any sound, but it seemed uneasy to follow and imagine them,especially since my students were small and those things were quite abstract forthem

In addition, in online classes, some students were mischievous; they easily lostconcentration on the lesson and were impacted by factors around them The teachercould not control those factors, and it made me spend more time reminding students

to focus on the lesson Normally, the improvement of this kind of student is notclear That was a challenge for a newbie like me when I did not have muchexperience in coping with such cases

2.2 The experiences

Although I faced many difficulties in the internship, I also gained a lot ofvaluable experience for this position

 Improving English: When I teach English to my students, many of the

knowledge I need to review to prepare for the lesson is already there time teaching is one time for me to review them Through a process ofteaching many times, that made me remember them longer and myknowledge became more stable
