I Objectives:

* By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

+ listen and identify specific information related to the theme Me and my friends

+ read and identify specific information related to the theme Me and my friends

+ use simple sentences to write about themselves

+ read, listen to and understand a short story

- Ss can develop some following competences:

+ Communicative and collaborative competence: act 1, act 4

+ Problem-solving competence: act 1, act 3

+ Self-studying and self-control competence: act 2, act 3, act 4

+ Problem-solving and creative competence: act 4

* Attitudes/ Quality:

- Live responsibly, love country.

- Confident in learning and practice situations

*Language focus:

- Vocabulary:  review from Unit 1 to Unit 5

- Strucrure: revieu from unit 1 to unit 5

- Differentiated teaching:

+ Incomplete ss: can ask and answer themselves + Well-completed ss: can ask and answer others and themselves

Activity 1: Warm up

SENTENCE PATTERNS:

Ss choose a number and T open the blank.

Procedure:

- Tell the class that they are going to listen to two dialogues and tick the correct pictures Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures

- Play the recording all the way through for pupilsto listen Play it again for them to do the task

- Get pupils to compare their answers before checking as a class - Give explanationsfor answers which pupils find difficult Play the recording again for them to listen again, if necessary

Procedure:

- Tell the class that they are going to listen to four dialogues and

number them

- Play the recording all the way through for pupilsto listen Play it again for them to do the task

Content 3: Listen and tick Yes (Y) or No (N)

Procedure:

- Tell the class that they are going to listen to two dialogues and tick Yes or

No

- Give them a few seconds to read the statements and guess the answers

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen Play it again for them to tick the boxes

- Get pupils to compare their answers before checking as a class

- Tell the class that they are going to read a text and circle the correct answers

- Give them time to read the questions and answers in silence Remind them

to underline the key words and phrases in the answers to compare with the

- Get pupils to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class Give explanations, if necessary

Procedure:

- Tell the class that they are going to read and listen to the story

- Before they listen, ask them to look at the pictures and ask them

questions to remind them of the characters (E.g What’s the name of the black-and-white cat? What’s the name of the white mouse? Can you see the brown cat and the red cat? Who are they? Do you know the grey mouse? Can you

remember his name?)

- Ask them to read the story in silence Then play the recording all the way through for them to listen and follow in their books

Activity 3:

Content 2: Answer the questions:

Procedure:

- Tell the class that they are going to read the story again and answer the questions

- Give them a few seconds to read the story again and check their

comprehension

- Give them a time limit to do the task

- Ask them to swap and compare their answers before checking as a class

- Invite a group of seven to act out the story

Content 3: Unscramble these words from the story

- Tell the class that they are going to look at the scrambled letters and write the words

- Have them look at the scrambled letters and find the words from the story

- Set a time limit for the task Give them the first letters of the words if they find the task too difficult

- Ask pupils to compare their answers before checking as a class

- Invite a few pairs to read the words aloud
