Từ “Due to” trong Tiếng Anh có những nghĩa khác nhau cũng như cách

sử dụng khác nhau Biết cách dùng “due to” sẽ giúp bạn vận dụng chính xác vào các ngữ cảnh và tính huống giao tiếp cụ thể

Due to: bởi vì, do

1 Cách dùng Due to trong Tiếng Anh:

Trong Tiếng Anh, cấu trúc Due to dùng để chỉ lý do, nguyên nhân của hành động, sự việc nhất định nào đó

2 Cấu trúc Due to

Cấu trúc 1:

S + V + Due to + Noun Phrase

Ex: – The team’s success was largely due to his efforts

(Sự thành công của đội phần lớn là do sự nỗ lực của anh ấy)

– Nam failed the exam due to his negligence

(Nam đã trượt bài kiểm tra bởi vì sự cẩu thả của anh ấy)

Cấu trúc 2:

S + V + Due to + the fact that S + V

Ex: They spent all time last Christmas at home due to the fact that the weather was so cold

(Họ đã dành cả thời gian mùa giáng sinh trước ở nhà bởi vì sự thật rằng thời tiết quá lạnh)

*Notes:

– Khi sử dụng Due to ở đầu câu cần ngăn cách các mệnh đề bằng dấu “,” – Một số cụm từ đồng nghĩa với Due to:

Due to = Because of = Owing to = On account of = In view of

(Bởi vì, do vì)

Cấu trúc 3:

Due to được dùng như một tính từ trong câu

Ex: The car is due to leave soon

(Chiếc xe rời đi sớm)

Ex: Due to the bad weather, we can’t go for a picnic

(Bởi vì thời tiết xấu, chúng tôi không thể đi dã ngoại)

= Because of the bad weather, we can’t go for a picnic

(Bởi vì thời tiết xấu, chúng tôi không thể đi dã ngoại)

account of hoặc In view of.

3 Viết lại câu với Due to:

Due to là từ đồng nghĩa với Because of nên cách viết lại cũng giống với cách viết lại câu từ Because of sang Because

S + V + Due to + Noun Phrase

➔S + V + Because + S + V…

Ex: I went to school late due to my broken bike

(Tôi đã đến trường muộn bởi vì chiếc xe của tôi bị hỏng)

➔I went to school late because my bike was broken

(Tôi đã đến trường muộn bởi vì chiếc xe đạp của tôi đã bị hỏng)
