Many organizations try to help the homeless They give them food, shelter, and clothing Many people volunteer or work for free, with these organizations Most homeless people have no jobs To help the homeless look for jobs, some people leave them newspapers, so they can read the want ads If they can find a job, they might be able to make enough money to pay for a place to live Some homeless people try to make money by asking for money Others do not like to beg, so they look for empty soda cans and bottles to return
to shops in exchange for money When the homeless are hungry and don’t have enough money to buy food, many of them look through garbage cans for food that people or restaurants have thrown away
