+ Khi /t/ đứng đầu từ (hoặc khi không đứng đầu từ nhưng lại được nhấn trọng âm vào nó) thì vẫn phải phát âm /t/ là /t/.
Ví dụ:
– Tell (v) – /tel/: kể (chuyện)
– Content (n) – /kənˈtent/: nội dung
– Table (n) – /ˈteɪ.bəl/: cái bàn
+ Khi t đứng giữa, không bị nhấn trọng âm /t/ phát âm thành /d/.
Ví dụ:
