Summary
The presence of paraffin in crude oil has caused severe implications in production and transportation The high-paraffin crude oil easily freezes at high temperatures, especially in the condition where the production and transportation pipeline is not heat-insulated from the external environment of seawater Thus, a number of pour point depressant additives (PPD) that are based on polymer or copolymer with alkyl (met)acrylate or maleic are now being Imported and used domestically Recently, studies on the synthesis of pour point depressant based on amine compounds and fatty acids have made good achievements in both reducing the pour point and improving the flow
of crude oil Particularly, ester of polyalkanolamine has many dominant properties of a base pour point compound that effectively reduce the pour point of high-paraffin crudes It bas opened an alternative approach in synthesising the pour point additives in laboratory This study acquires those results and proposes a new application for the waxy crude oils in Vietnam, specifically for the Bach Ho crude oiL
