By taking the Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) as a junior, students may meet requirements to enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic
competition for recognition and scholarships
Additionally, the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT™ 10 connect students to another $300 million in college scholarships for students across all major demographics The awards—ranging from $2,000 to full-tuition scholarships—are made possible through our partnerships with these 26 leading scholarship providers:

College Board connects them with our partner organizations, which could mean money for college

The BigFuture Scholarships program provides a simple path to college with the chance to earn
$40,000 and $500 scholarships for each step taken At least half of the scholarships – more than $1.5 million – will be awarded to students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year Learn more at
