The United Planning Organization (UPO)staff and The

University of the District of Columbia (UDC) staff and students will share Capstone projects

Learn how:

Capstone projects help organizations develop new programs or enhance existing ones

Students hone skills that Community Action Agencies desire

Projects produce insights that influence community impact

to take place during the summer of 2021 in Washington, DC

school and transform them into tools for success

GOALS

• Create detailed program agenda for a youth leadership conference

• Create list of ideas for Sponsors, Speakers, Themes, and Ice Breakers

• Create Budget

• Increased violence in Southeast DC

• Increase access to role models

• Students experienced traumas

CONFERENCE OUTCOMES

• Students explore what leadership looks like in their community

• Students learn basic leadership skills

• Students gain a sense of support and camaraderie with other students and community leaders
