Trang 5GSP PLAN OVERVIEW (Charter Content)
As the greater Seattle region takes steps towards re-opening the
economy, many entities are discussing and developing plans that
vary in focus and scope, from economic mitigation to short-term
recovery to long-term recovery
Regional leaders reached out to GSP to prompt GSP’s leadership of a
regional recovery plan Many others embraced this initiative, which
has led to this kick off meeting
Greater Seattle Partners (GSP) now leads a
cohesive and coordinated strategy for regional
long-term economic recovery.
As Greater Seattle’s only regional economic and trade development
organization, GSP is well positioned to be a leader in coordinating
the plan in partnership with other regional partners GSP is a
public-private partnership with representation from throughout the region,
capable of mobilizing additional leaders at the highest level
GSP will bring together a Task Force of public, private, and
non-profit sector leaders, representing all aspects of the regional
economy
The Task Force will lead the development of
a Regional Economic Recovery Plan that enhances and complements other economic recovery plans
The Task Force will be engaged through Work Groups, subgroups, and one on one interviews throughout 2020, to monitor virus impacts and the economic path to recovery The Organizing Work Group will meet together to review the plan as it comes together
Members of each Work Group will represent public, private, and non-profit organizations from across the Puget Sound region The Work Groups will meet independently and bring analysis, needs, and solutions back to the OWG to deliberate
The OWG and each Work Group will ensure equity and social justice permeates the
recovery strategy throughout all actions.
