Background Information
On Thursday, October 8th, Florida Polytechnic University held its first Presidential
Inauguration for Dr Randy K Avent Over 300 people attended the ceremony We
received support from most SUS universities including University of Florida, New College
of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and
University of Central Florida
Guest speakers included The Honorable Lt Governor of Florida Carlos Lopez-Cantera,
Florida Board of Governors Chairman Mori Hosseini, Florida Board of Governors
Chancellor Marshall Criser III, Florida Poly Trustee Frank Martin, Florida Poly Trustee Dr
Christina Drake, Florida Poly Veronica Herrera Perez, Saddle Creek Logistics President
Frank Otto, and Florida Atlantic University President John Kelly
