African-American History The Department of History at Hunter College, CUNY

invites applications for an Open Rank faculty member, with strong preference for

Associate/Full professor (tenure track), of African-American history with an anticipated starting date on or about September 1, 2018 A PhD in history is required at the time of appointment In addition to teaching courses in the specialty, the appointee should have a demonstrated commitment to teaching the first or second half of the U.S history survey Applicants with research interests related to slavery, particularly in a transnational

context, are especially encouraged to apply Salary commensurate with qualifications and

experience Review of applications will begin October 30, 2017 and continue until

position is filled
