institutions, or agencies, where applicable, shall have primary responsibility for supervision of duties” (Church Order Article 13b)

At the time of extending the call, or subsequently if necessary, the council presents to classis “an outline of requirements for reporting…and supervision by the calling church, in consultation with cooperating agencies as applicable” (Supplement, Church Order Article 12c) Each council is expected

to fulfill these supervisory responsibilities for ministers of the Word and commissioned pastors under

its care

The church visitors shall inquire annually regarding each calling church’s supervision of those

“associate” ministers of the Word and commissioned pastors whose credentials reside with them “The church visitors shall inform classes of departures from the approved provisions for supervision and reporting” (cf Church Order Supplement to Article 12c).
