Presentation of awards and introduction of new members of Beta Gamma Sigma

honorary fraternity highlighted the lVth annual awards banquet of the Montana State

University School of Business Administration Thursday, Dean Paul B Blomgren reported.

The program opened with the invocation by the Rev C William Hassler of the

University's affiliated School of Religion and selections by the MSU Jubileers,

directed by Joseph Mussulman of the music faculty.

Dr Jack J Kempner of the business faculty introduced new members of Beta

Gamma Sigma To qualify for membership students must rank scholastically in the

top 10 per cent of the senior class or the top four per cent of the junior class

and have a minimum grade average of 3*25 (3-00 is a B average).

Juniors elected are Martha E Comer, Deer Lodge; Denis L Adams, Winnett, and

Marva Kirby, Maxbass, N D Seniors chosen are John G Templeton, Butte; George P.

Hughes, Dillon; Shirley Jean Warehime, Belt, and Norma L Collins, Butte.

Recipients of awards and persons who made the presentations were:

Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award of one-year subscription and

silver medal to Robert E Lindquist, Great Falls, by Dean Blomgren.

Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants $200 Junior Scholarship to

Denis L Adams, Winnett, and Senior Key Award to Marilyn T Froehlich, Missoula,

by Henry Jordahl, vice president of the society.

Montana Bankers Association $250 Junior Finance Scholarship to Paul D.

Miller, Miles City, by Theodore Jacobs, president, First National Bank, Missoula.

’ Montana Building and Loan League $100 scholarships to Marva Kirby, Maxbass,

N D.; John G Griffith Jr., Missoula; Wayne L Schoonmaker, Troy, and Donald L.

Pefaur, Harlem, by Lyle Grimes, loan officer, Western Montana Building and Loan.

Forum and National Business Education Quarterly to Frank H Thayer, Lewistown, by

Marva Kirby, president of Phi Chi Theta.

Phi Chi Theta (women's professional fraternity) Key Award for outstanding

senior woman to Norma L Collins, Butte, and $25 scholarship to junior woman with

highest scholastic average to Martha Comer, Deer Lodge, by Marva Kirby, PCT

president.

Alpha Kappa Psi (men's professional fraternity) Scholarship Key for senior

man with highest scholastic average to John G Templeton, Butte, by Robert

Boulter, Butte, AKP president.
