The National Council of Teachers of English ("NCTE") is pleased to undertake the publication of your
(the "Contribution") to be included in English Journal (the "Collective Work") edited by Toby Emert and R Joseph
Rodriguez The following terms of publication are submitted for your consideration:
APPROVAL AND ACCEPTANCE: We mutually agree that publication of the Contribution is contingent upon NCTE’s express acceptance for publication and upon its meeting all NCTE editorial standards and other specifications
COPYRIGHT: NCTE shall own and register the copyright to the Collective Work in which your contribution will appear However, you shall retain and be responsible for registration of the copyright in and to your individual Contribution Please indicate the copyright notice and preferred credit line which should appear on your Contribution:
PERMISSION TO PUBLISH: You grant NCTE permission to publish your Contribution in the Collective Work pursuant to the following terms: NCTE shall receive nonexclusive world rights in the English language for all editions and revisions of the Work, in all forms (print and nonprint, including all forms of electronic media in which the Work may be published in whole or in part) Should NCTE receive a request from another publisher to reprint all or any part of the Contribution, NCTE shall refer the requester to you, as copyright holder
WARRANTY: You warrant that the Contribution is original to you; that it contains no matter which is libelous or
is otherwise unlawful or which invades individual privacy or infringes any proprietary right or any statutory copyright Further, you warrant that you are the holder of the copyright to the Contribution You agree to defend, indemnify and hold NCTE harmless against any claim or judgment to the contrary
NO COMPENSATION: You shall receive no royalty or other form of compensation as a result of this consent
RELEASE: In exchange for information and services provided to you and in connection with your participation with NCTE, and for other good and valuable consideration, you agree to release, forever discharge, and hold harmless

NCTE, its officers, agents and related companies, of and from any and all manner of claims, actions, causes of actions, demands, obligations, liens, rights, damages, costs, loss of service, expenses and/or compensation of any nature whatsoever arising from the use of work created submitted by you to NCTE for inclusion in any NCTE related publication or website in accordance with this permission
