International & Off-Campus Programs

Study Abroad Colleague Application

As part of the university’s expanding global and cross-cultural education initiatives, Hamline University articulated a commitment

to send a staff member on short-term off-campus programs This is done both in support of the faculty leader and to further the globalization of our campus community This is a unique professional development opportunity for members of the Hamline University staff community to become meaningfully involved in many of our global opportunities Every year Hamline University offers a number of short-term courses, including J-Term and May Term courses and Graduate International Seminars

The Hamline University International & Off-Campus Programs Office is seeking applicants from administrators and staff who would like to be considered as a Short- term Study Abroad Colleague for a short term international course Study Abroad

Colleagues will be selected by the International & Off-Campus Programs Staff in consultation with the faculty member leading the course Those who are selected as Study Abroad Colleagues will have their time considered paid work time, not vacation The International & Off-Campus Programs Office will cover the travel expenses of these individuals in significant support roles as well

as provide a $20/day stipend

It is important to note the difference between participating in an off-campus program as a student who may also employed at Hamline, and participating as a Study Abroad Colleague In other words, it is not possible to take a course for academic credit and serve as a Study Abroad Colleague
