St Catherine University seeks applications for the Programming Intern on its St Paul campus The Programming Intern will

work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty in creating an inclusive, engaging and lively program of activities,

events, and services for the St Catherine University community

The Programming Intern will have primary responsibility for supervising and advising SEEK (Social Events and Experiences

for Katies), the campus programming board SEEK is composed of 9-10 student program coordinators that create fun and

engaging events on campus that enhance the student experience primarily for College of Women students The

Programming Intern will develop collaborative working relationships with other campus organizations and departments,

including Dining Services, Multicultural and International Programs and Services (MIPS), University Events, Residence Life,

O’Shaughnessy Auditorium, student clubs and organizations, etc., to ensure their involvement in the Student Center and its

programs

Serve as the primary supervisor and advisor to SEEK:

o Design and coordinate selection, training, and regular evaluation of SEEK Coordinators (9-10)

o Attend weekly SEEK meetings (varies each semester based on student schedules)

o Oversee the SEEK Google Hub and shared drive

o Coordinate fall training retreat for SEEK members

o Work with SEEK in the development of their student activity fee-funded budget and their presentation to the College for Women Student Senate (student government)

o Monitor the budget allocated to SEEK (~$85,000)

o Assist students with coordination of major events including Handcrafted Holidays (November), Charity Ball (December), and Dew Drop Bop (May)

o Create a resource system for Agent and Artist materials

o Design and implement an assessment process for SEEK programs and events

o Design and implement a needs assessment process to obtain student needs and interests and to work with SEEK coordinators to ensure that these are being met

Work collaboratively with the Student Center and Activities Staff to design and implement leadership

development training programs for club leaders, student staff, and students at large

Maintain excellent working relationships with departments that interface significantly with Student Center and

Activities Office including Custodial, Facilities, Public Safety, University Events, Dining Services and Catering

• Participate actively within the Division of Student Affairs by attending meetings, serving on university committees

and taskforces as needed, and being an ambassador for student involvement

Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director

Must be currently enrolled (or starting in Fall 2021) and in good standing in a graduate program, preferably in

Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Organizational Leadership, or a related field

• Interest in Student Center and Activities, with previous experience preferred

• Experience in advising college students preferred

• Demonstrated experience in program/event development and implementation

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrated commitment to working effectively/collaboratively with a diverse student population

• Commitment to working in a women’s, Catholic, liberal arts institution

• Ability to establish and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with students, staff and faculty

The incumbent must have the ability to respond respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, in a manner that

affirms the worth and preserves the dignity of individuals, families, and communities
