Dear Prayer and Ministry Partners,
Merry Christmas to all of you from a very warm and
wet Trinidad We are excited to bring you up to speed
with what has been happening on our end
Hope Community Church celebrated 9 years since our
launch on November 14, 2010 Meela and I, together
with our kids and church family are deeply grateful to
the Lord for those of you who continue to believe in
what God is doing in our lives here in Trinidad
Hope Community Church has grown to
an average
of about
140 people with 5 functioning small groups, a Men's Leadership
Development track, a Women's Coffee Morning Bible
Study, a Youth ministry and a thriving KidZone on
Sundays
Our School of Discipleship Classes on Tuesday nights
continue to establish our people in their faith This last
season we offered Foundations for Life - a Bible
Doctrine Class
Vacation Bible School 2019
Last July
we hosted for the first time a Vacation Bible School @ HCC We were assisted by a team from Community Church of St Lawrence S Dakota, sent out by Frontier School of the Bible WY They were a huge blessing to our church and we saw an attendance of 105 kids
Over 50 kids trusted Christ as their Saviour Praise the Lord!
We can’t wait for the next one in
2020
Leaders Appointed @ Hope Community Church
At our annual Church Family Weekend Retreat in September,
we appointed 5 men into leadership (1 elder – Max & 4 deacons: Timmy, Dale, Christopher and Justin)
It’s exciting to see one of our goals for leadership being accomplished – to have an established church with 3 elders and 4 deacons by 2020 What a blessing
to have these faithful men now come on board to share the responsibilities of the ministry
We thank God for our local sending church - St
Augustine Evangelical Bible Church as well as for Mission Church PA for training and coaching us to this point We are grateful for our mission board
Trang 2Tentmakers Bible Mission for being an umbrella over
us in prayer, counselling, mentorship and equipping
And a special thanks to all of you who continue to pray
and to support us while we work to build a multiplying
church here on the island of Trinidad
Update on the Heerah Family
Justin (23 yrs.) has completed his first semester of his Junior year at Cedarville University He came home for
5 weeks at the beginning of the Summer We were
really encouraged to see the growth and development
of his heart for the Lord and the ministry of worship
He led our church in worship and did some more
training with the team and some upgrading of our
Tech Dept We are truly excited to see how the Lord
will further develop and lead him At this point he will
sit out a semester in the Spring and return home to
assist the church He has a real burden to serve his
home church with all he has learned so far We will
trust the Lord to provide for the fall of 2020
Joseph, now 19, has graduated from High School and
is exploring his options for pursuing a career in
aviation He is working part time at a restaurant
Please pray with us as we seek to support him with
God's help He leads our Worship Tech ministry and
also serves as a Youth Ministry intern
Charissa turned 14 on October 26 and is growing up
into a fine young lady She started her 3 rd year of
Secondary School and has adjusted well She has a
passion for baking but is leaning in the area of
Pharmaceuticals Charissa sings with worship team
and serves as an assistant with the KidZone Ministry
We are doing well as a couple In October, we both
had the opportunity to visit Cedarville University for a
Pastor’s Conference We were also there in time for
Justin’s birthday We visited with Ronnie’s mom in
New York, Meela’s sister and her family in Lancaster
PA, as well as an overnight visit with the Morts, our dear friends from Florida Bible College At Cedarville,
we got to meet some of Justin’s closest friends and had them over one evening for a Trini dinner We also got to spend some precious time with Dr Roger O’Neel and his family and Susan Plemons, two of Justin’s professors We are so thankful for their generous hospitality in hosting us and for watching out for Justin while at Cedarville
On our return to Trinidad we celebrated our Church’s 9th Anniversary with Paul Goodnight, a very dear friend from Florida Bible College, as our guest speaker It was so refreshing to visit with Paul after 6 years
In mid November, Ronnie came down with the flu that lasted for about 10 days and after a doctor’s visit we found out it had led to pneumonia It was a long 3 weeks of recovery and it left him feeling very weak but
he is regaining strength by the day Thank God for the men of the church who stepped up and kept things flowing smoothly God is building His Church!
