Samford University, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Southern Conference, is seeking applicants for a full time position working in the athletics department serving as the primary contact for the Samford Athletics Ticket Office
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations and Facilities, The Director of Ticket
Operations will manage all aspects of ticketing operations and fulfillment for the Athletics Ticket Office efficiently and effectively in order to support ticketed events hosted by Samford Athletics
The Director of Ticket Operations responsibilities are (but are not limited to):
Provide a superior level of customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patrons in order to promote Samford University Athletics
Administer all athletics ticket office operations including fulfillment of single and season tickets for all ticketed events in athletics facilities to include athletic events, concerts, conventions, performances, trade shows,
corporate, and other special events
Communicate effectively with general public through box office hours, phone, email, and web space to provide most up-to-date ticket information and address all inquiries
Participate in sales campaigns for prospective ticket sales as needed
Oversight of all accounting and financial operations of Ticket Office including deposits, record keeping, invoicing, and reporting functions
Utilize and maintain all ticket office technology including sales software, validation scanners, credit card machines, printers to maximize ticket office efficiency
Set-up and breakdown of all game day ticket sales outlets
Supervising will call locations, scheduling and supervision of part-time and student employees, management of all revenues and expenses related to the athletics ticket office consistent with all applicable Samford University policies and procedures
Assists with set-up and breakdown for all events and facilities as needed
Assists with security and supervision of all athletics facilities as needed
Position requires working evenings, weekends, some travel with teams, as well as other related duties as assigned
by supervisors
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with one year of experience working in college athletics A Master’s degree in Sports
Management or closely related field may substitute for experience
Working knowledge of NCAA and Southern Conference rules and regulations with a personal commitment to operate within those rules is required
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ticket office technology such as printers, scanners, or a digital ticketing software provider Experience with NeuLion’s ticketing, donor and guest management software is preferred
