To provide a more robust view of the outcomes of the Class of 2018, this report describes both reported outcomes and results derived from other sources Specifically, this report includes data

self-obtained by the National Clearinghouse and HEP Data, an analytics firm that accesses LinkedIn profile information

Data Source Descriptions

2018 Graduate Follow-up Survey Results

An online survey was emailed to each member of the graduating class Several follow up reminders were sent to graduates who had not yet responded Unlike previous years, this survey was completely separate from any program-specific graduate surveys

Graduate Transfer Report

A National Student Clearinghouse response report listing the colleges and universities to which

graduates transferred, including the type of institution: 2-year or 4-year, public or private

Graduate Demographics Report

A report comprised of 2018 graduates including demographic data such as race/ethnicity and gender, as well as other elements, such as city, program, and ESL status The graduate demographic report

contains one record per graduate Within that record, credentials are ranked by degree first, followed by 2-year certificate, followed by 1-year certificate

HEP Data Match File

A response file from HEP Data, an organization that matches graduates to LinkedIn analytics HEP matched NSCC data to its database and returned some additional employment data on NSCC graduates

Class Profile

A total of 1,098 credentials (degrees and certificates) were awarded to the Class of 2018 There were 1,077 distinct graduates in the class 19 students received two awards, while 1 student earned three awards

The preponderance of certificates were awarded to female graduates, while degrees awarded more closely mirrored the split between male and female enrollees Two third of both degrees and

certificates were awarded to white students, while one third were awarded to minority students Slightly more than half of all awards to minority students went to Hispanic/Latino students

Great affordable college, beautiful campus, great program, awesome professors, amazing sim lab! Please improve your tutor services for nursing students!

North shore community college was transformative

Overall I throughly enjoyed my time at NSCC However, the only down side was the transfer process In fact, it was very difficult I had little to no guidance in regards to applying and getting into another institution I felt that there needed to be more assistance, and communication I also was extremely unsatisfied with the work of the offices On multiple occasions, NSCC lost my papers, failed to send my transfer applications, and my unofficial transcripts to colleges I applied for It was extremely

unprofessional, and almost kept me from getting into another institution I’d like to see each student at NSCC be provided with a direct advisor and to be met with monthly when planning to graduate or transfer to a new college There needs to be more direction and guidance

NSCC changed my perspective as a student I will be forever grateful to have attended

[Redacted] in the Disability Services worked with me from day 1 I had no computer skills what so ever I new the key board only She taught me everything I qualified for in other tec I graduated Magna and only I mean only because of [redacted] I wish you would share this info to all that needs her assistance

NSCC was a fantastic experience I was able to achieve a life-long goal to earn my degree, and now working on my Bachelor's Before NSCC, I never imagined I could do it, but with great guidance and terrific professors at NSCC, I did it! A special thank-you to [redacted] who was my also my advisor Many times I wanted to quit, but she was always there giving that much needed encouragement I'll never forget NSCC You made me believe that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible! Thank you NSCC Danvers Campus!

The faculty in the early ed program were all amazing I can't say enough great things about [redacted] and [redacted] Both woman were extremely helpful and inspiring

Majority of the advisors in the Lynn Campus were very discouraging instead of being positive in helping

me be successful

I found north shore to be an amazing experience and the dedication from the professors to their

students is second to none Each professor there truly cares about their respective subject matter and the students’ ability to learn it in an efficient manner

If NSCC had a bachelor’s degree program, I would have never left!! Miss my experience, my professors, and everything about my two years spent at the college very much

North Shore made it easy for me to finish my gen eds and transfer so I am able to focus on my current major I love North Shore and always recommend it to those interested in getting a college education!

I am the biggest fan of NSSC They made everything so easy and convenient

I am completely blind and have chronic kidney failure Despite these circumstances, NSCC made my experience seamless, easy, and very flexible according to my needed accommodations I really enjoyed their accessibility services, and the opportunity I received to be commencement speaker for graduation

In fact I still feel at home when I visit, I still feel part of the family

My first few years at NSCC were somewhat of a waste because I was not enrolled into the area of study that I applied for and was only taking liberal arts electives that advising told me would count towards my degree which they did not

Only thing I didn’t not like was the fact that I started at North Shore majoring in Management but at the last minute (last class to graduate) was told that the management degree was not a transfer degree and

I had to take the BAT (business administration transfer) degree Which caused me to stay to the school another two semesters because I needed two math and two sciences Which I feel caused me to be late

on starting Salem State

NSCC gave me confidence I’m glad that I choose NSCC as my first step

Loved my experience at NSCC! Wish I was still there!!

Great program! The only thing preventing me from working a nursing job (and my firefighting job) is recovery from rotator couch surgery

The nursing program was fantastic I don’t have any complaints other than it was a rigorous and time consuming program, but in this field that is a good thing! I recommend NSCC to everyone

I'm from South Sudan, and I came to the United States as a refugee NSCC (first community college I attended) allowed me to pursue my goals and recognized me as an individual who had gone a lot in life Despite the fact that English was the second language, I felt was home at NSCC Kudos all faculties and all who makes NSSCC a welcoming for everyone

North Shore is awesome! I will always love that place

I wish NSCC was a 4 year college

I was hired before I took classes so first half of survey did not apply

I enjoyed NSCC I got well educated

I enjoyed my time at North shore while completing my college program as well as the Adult Learning Center when preparing for my HiSET tests

Attended NSCC for Medical Coding I was not informed at start of the program that there would be an additional 150 question 5 hour 40 minute exam to pass to become a certified coder I was not as impressed with the medical coding teacher I honestly, ended paying out of pocket for a tutoring program after my class at NSCC were completed to prepare me for the CPC Exam I felt completely unprepared to take either the CCA or CPC exam from my knowledge and classes taken at NSCC due to knowledge and information gaps from NSCC Coding instructor I was very happy with tutoring program outside NSCC

I had a great experience at NSCC

Professors in PTA program at NSCC were outstanding

I can’t thank NSCC enough for the wonderful experience I had throughout my time as a Business Administration transfer student!

I learned a lot in a short amount of time in [redacted] class only, and gave me the confidence

Even though NSCC is my first community college experience, I believe NSCC is the gold standard Looking forward to graduation and a new career

Program equipped me well with the necessary skills required to perform my duties with confidence

I have a degree in Paralegal Studies but I don't feel comfortable in an office setting I'm thinking about coming back to do the Legal Secretary degree program just to gain confidence and competence in the office
