People who have experienced serious trauma may develop posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or a substance-use disorder In this study, people with PTSD or with a substance use disorder participated in peer-led or counselor-led

Seeking Safety therapy sessions Seeking Safety is a treatment program to help people with these disorders Researchers found that people in both the peer-led and counselor-led sessions reported fewer PTSD symptoms, used drugs and alcohol less, and had better mental health after attending the sessions.
