Trang 2Your benefit – good reasons for studying International Business
Over the last few years the wide-ranging International Business course (IB) has developed very quickly in response to the many challenges posed by glo-balisation German industrial and service companies are increasingly active
on international markets and therefore need flexible, highly motivated and above all internationally trained personnel
Expertise is especially sought in the following areas:
– International Marketing – Export techniques and Financing – Opening up and adapting foreign markets – International Law
The International Business course attempts to do justice to these deve-lopments The comprehensive studies offered in Business Administration include gaining a knowledge of international business, foreign languages, intercultural skills and international project work
At the heart of business life, not in the ivory tower
The International Business course equips students with a grounding in the traditional
basics of Business Administration such as Financing, Marketing, Cost Accounting and
Ba-lancing In addition lectures and seminars are offered on the more specialised areas of
International Business and Cultural Management
Lectures and seminars on International Business deal with business topics from an
inter-national perspective “To see clearly, often all you need to do is look in a different
direc-tion”, Antoine de St Exupéry already said Especial emphasis is placed on International
Marketing as well as on innovative Information and Communication Technologies
Lectures and seminars on Cultural Management deal with topics such as Values and their
Marketing Relevance (Purchasing and Sales), Working in International Teams, Negotiation
Techniques in Selected Cultures, as well as Intercultural Skills in Selected Purchasing and
Export Markets
Teaching is held in English and German Classes on Business English enrich the offer All
students choose Spanish or French as an obligatory subject, and they can study a further
foreign language as an elective
International Business – global flexibility on a firm foundation
The course has good reason to call itself International Business Not least because of opportunities to work and study abroad, IB studies are distinctly international in orientation
Studying abroad
The DHBW Ravensburg has established numerous cooperation schemes with universities abroad Students of International Busi-ness in particular can spend a study semester in a foreign country, thus guaranteeing additional international orientation Qualifica-tions obtained abroad are generally recognised as equivalent to
those available in Ravensburg Recognised study semesters can be spent in: USA, UK, France, Spain, Denmark, Finland, South Africa,
Australia and South America
Working abroad
In the International Business course, one of the practical training phases is normally spent doing an internship abroad Experience shows that an internship abroad in a subsidiary or with represen-tatives, customers or suppliers of the training enterprise decisively enhances the quality of the students’ learning experience
