ABOUT IONA COLLEGE

A diverse community of learners and scholars with a

Iona College was on the front lines of COVID-19 when

the virus first hit New Rochelle in March 2020 Hailed

as the “first to close, first to reopen,” Iona nevertheless

pushed ahead on its path of innovation A year later,

this small Catholic liberal arts college just north of

New York City has emerged as an anomaly in higher

education: while national enrollment plummeted,

Iona’s enrollment rose by 15 percent

Iona not only revamped many of its traditional course

offerings, but also launched several new degrees

this year The College also incentivized faculty to

reexamine and reinvent the curriculum and course

offerings to align with market changes and demands

The launch of a new logo, website and brand

promise: “Learn Outside the Lines” was the result of a community effort Iona also hired Hall of Fame men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino, who is eager to claim the team’s 14th MAAC Championship and lead Iona even deeper into the March Madness of the NCAA tournament

The Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, meanwhile, launched its first two dynamic new

majors this year – a BA in Entrepreneurial Leadership and a BBA in Entrepreneurship Also new to the Hynes Institute is an online advanced certificate

in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programs are designed to inspire students to be innovative leaders and problem-solvers, empowering them to be agents

of change in the world

From its founding through to today, Iona has welcomed a high percentage of first-generation college students The student body is diverse The alumni body is deeply committed to the success of the school The Board of Trustees is both engaged and invested in Iona’s long-term success in changing times, while appreciative of the school’s unique history In other words, Iona has a uniquely compelling story to tell

FACILITIES

New buildings and facilities, completely renovated

classrooms and simulation labs, and comprehensive

technology and equipment upgrades have also been

a critical component of Iona’s success The College

recently completed a $37 million renovation of its

renowned LaPenta School of Business, just months

after cutting the ribbon on the new Hynes Institute for

Entrepreneurship & Innovation and the dramatically

upgraded Hynes Athletics Center The new LaPenta

School of Business facility is having a dramatic impact

on Iona, more than doubling the academic space for

use by faculty and students from both the LaPenta

School of Business and the College’s School of Arts &

Science High-tech learning spaces include

state-of-the-art classrooms and computer labs, a central atrium

event space, case study and meeting rooms, faculty

offices, a lecture hall, a business career center, and an

expanded trading floor

Iona recently announced plans to build a new health sciences school in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) The NYP-Iona School of Health Sciences will be housed on a new campus, which Iona is in the process of acquiring from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY The new campus is just 3 miles from Iona’s New Rochelle campus and adds

28 acres and over a dozen buildings to the growing Iona community NYP has gifted $20,000,000 to assist Iona with the build-out of a state-of-the-art health sciences program that will create a pipeline for clinical placements and full-time careers Additionally, the Bronxville campus will add new athletic fields, tennis courts and studio art and performance arts facilities that will provide more space for robust student activities including club sports from lacrosse to e-sports alongside traditional arts such Irish step dancing and a cappella singing
