Trang 1Operational Guidelines 2021-2022
The Morgan County Charter School System is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment for students and
staff Ultimately, we hold the health and safety of our students, staff, and community members as the highest priority As we progress
throughout the school year, we will continue to monitor issues related to health concerns and safety, such as COVID-19, flu, etc Below are the operational guidelines for the start of the new school year These guidelines are subject to change based on spread rates and guidance
from the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health.
School employees will teach and reinforce healthy hygiene
practices
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout each building and in classrooms
All staff and students will be encouraged to practice social distancing to the extent possible
Promoting Behaviors that Reduce Spread
All students and employees will be required to stay home if they have COVID-19 symptoms or test positive
Students or staff who have a confirmed case of COVID-19 will continue to follow Department of Public Health guidelines for returning to
work/school safely
Contact Tracing and quarantines will be conducted by the Department of Public Health with the assistance of school officials as needed
Close contacts at school may opt to quarantine while monitoring symptoms Absences for students who choose to quarantine will be considered excused
Close contacts in the same household will be required to quarantine
Employees and students/guardians (on behalf of students) will be asked
to self-report to the school nurse or principal if they have COVID-19 symptoms
Those who become sick and have a fever of 100.4 or higher at school will
be sent home If symptoms improve and there is a medical note from a doctor, the student may return when they are fever-free, without use of fever reducing medications, for 24 hours
Dealing with Illness
Safety
Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting will take
place at all facilities and on the school buses
Students and staff will have the option to
wear face coverings We will continue to
provide masks to individuals who request
them
During times of more significant spread, staff
and students may be encouraged to wear a
face covering Any operating procedure
regarding face coverings must be sensitive to
the needs of individuals with medical issues
that make wearing a face covering
inadvisable
We plan to start the school year operating under a more traditional model which
will include a return of approved field trips, assemblies, and gradually allowing
visitors back in our school buildings
Starting School
All of the above information is subject to change based on the spread of the virus in our community and schools As new data emerges throughout the school year, the structure of schooling may change and differ from current guidelines The Morgan County Charter School System community will be
informed if any changes become necessary
