In this talk, I will introduce the origin of semantic Web and its evolvement to knowledge graph Major initiatives of knowledge graphs such as IBM Watson and Linked Open Data will be briefly introduced Then, I will present a few real-world examples of applying knowledge graph to enable knowledge-aware risk prediction for individual patients
Qingpeng Zhang is an associate professor with the School of Data Science, City University of Hong Kong He received the B.S degree in Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the M.S and Ph.D degrees in Systems and Industrial Engineering from The University of Arizona Prior to joining CityU, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Tetherless World Constellation, Department of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute He also worked
at the Center for Adaptive Computing Software-Multithreaded Architecture, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
His research interests include healthcare data analytics, medical informatics, network science and semantic Web He is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions T-ITS, IEEE T-CSS, Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, and PLoS ONE He is also a guest
editor for Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A and ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems He is
on the steering committee of the International Society of Digital Health, and the scientific committee of Hong Kong Society of Behavior Health
