She is a talented girl, but she has a big huge, secret that nobody knows, only her family They know what she is and who she really is One day someone saw Keeley using her powers to practice then told everybody Her most treasured possessions is her mother’s necklace that she gave to Keeley before she died Now she only has her sister Marley and her grandma Keeley does not know if her father is alive or dead Keeley is figuring out who she

is and what she is She is also discovering her powers Also her mother gave her one mission “Protect the

people that are closes to you and who are on your side” Keeley mother wanted to tell her herself but it was too late so Keeley has to do it on her own and figure out

what her mother means Keeley must find it herself

Chapter 1 First day of school

Keeley goes to Yale Prep High School She is 17-year-old and a junior who is a quiet observer Keeley is attending her first year of high school and is starting fresh with a very different life experience than most other students She is a regular girl who has a special talent for keeping her real identity hidden from the world Keeley and her sister Marley start their first day of school at Yale Prep High School together The girls look nothing alike, Keeley has long blond hair that she wears straight down her back other than Marley she is an everyday brown

ponytail Keeley is a petite 5’3 fashionista wearing a black T- shirt with jeans and black ankle boots Her light blue eyes become a very light green when she is nervous

which is how she is feeling right now as she enters the front door of Yale Prep High School When she puts her hand into her pocket, she finds her mother’s necklace, when she looks at it, her face changes to sad because

that necklace is special to her because the necklace is to

gain some comfort from her mother’s gift Keeley takes a

deep breath and thinks to herself “I got this”

While Keeley is walking in the hallway with Marley, she sees someone looking at her She is walking to the main office to get her schedule for her classes While Keeley is walking, the student is following her to the main office when the student says

“Hey, are you getting your class schedule?”

“Um yes?” I said

“Hey, I’m sorry I didn’t introduce myself I’m Vincent by the way”

“I’m Keeley nice to meet you” she says

“You too oh, I forgot what’s your first period class?”

Vincent says

“I have English and you?” I say

“Wow me too that is weird huh, even though we just met, Oh I’m sorry if I stared at you, or anything I just

didn’t want to go up alone, you know?” Vincent says and laughs nervously

Oh, it’s okay, um shall we go to Mr V’s class before the second bell rings?” I said

“Oh yes you’re right yeah let’s go before he gets mad at

us on the first day of school” Vincent says

They got to their class before the second bell they walked

in and they looked around to see if seats were available when Mr V says “Hello guys just take any empty seats and we will get stared okay!” Mr V smiles to them

As we find our seats, then Mr V is waiting for us to get settled I am in the 2 row and 3 are ahead of me (I’m in the 4th desk) of the classroom while Vincent is one space apart from me but next to him is a window Mr V telling

us to about his rules he is hold papers in his hands

“So today is going to be an easy day because I want you guys to feel welcomed or another word for it is

comfortable in here so, I am handing out a syllabus so is that you know what is expected in my class okay? If you guys have any questions my email is on the syllabus so, if you can pass these to your neighbor next to you okay, oh

I forgot you need a guardian to sigh this slip so I know you read it with them, and everything is in there of what

we are going to learn in my class so, I expect great writing from everyone this year, I can’t wait to see what you guys

come up with! But anyway, enough of me talking I want you guys to introduce yourselves let’s start with you” he points to a brown-haired girl While someone said, “Oh okay Mr V” In a rich-soft voice while she is getting out of her seat to come up to the front of the classroom She says her name is Bianca she is telling us about herself and

I am listening to her and corner of my eye I see Vincent is looking at me and I look at him quickly and he winks at

me and I turn head and not try not tying not to smile Bianca is done talking and everyone is clapping, and she

is walking back to her seat and Mr V calls on me next and

I shake my head

“Aww come on we won’t judge I promise it won’t hurt if you do” Mr V says

So I get up out of my seat and walk to the front of the classroom and give Mr V a friendly smile then he nod to let me know when your ready

“Um hi I’m Keeley I moved from Russia um I grew their with my family it was um me my Mom my Dad, my sister Marley and my grandma but a year or two later my

parents died so it is just me, Marley and my grandma but

we moved to the United States, a couple of months later

and here I am so um yeah that’s my story” Keeley

finished and went back to her seat

“Thank you Keeley and Bianca for your stories I’m afraid that we are out of time but we will continue this

tomorrow so have a great rest of your day and I am free 3,5,7 and also I’m after school on Tuesday, Wednesday and sometimes Thursday okay guys bye” Mr V says

As I grab my bag Vincent is next to me

“I didn’t know you were from Russia that is cool!”

Vincent says

And the rest of my day was just fine just easy for all of my classes, so I go on my bus with Marley and we get into the house and get a snack while Marley is up stairs then I put my syllabus on the counter and put a note for my grandma because she comes home at 8:00 pm everyday but on the weekends it’s different because she works night shift and doesn’t come home at 11:00pm, so it’s just me and Marley at home and ooh I forgot Vincent gave me his phone number I was surprised when he said

“Hey Keeley can I have your phone number?”

The next day was fine except that Bianca was rude to me today at lunch and at my locker when she bumped into

me and everything in my hands fell on to the floor so, I bend down and gather them then Vincent came over and saw me on my heels he walked over and bent down and helped me then we came up and bumped heads

“Ow” I said

“Oh, I’m so sorry Keeley” He said

And we both laughed

Then I went to English and took my regular seat and let

Mr V teach his lesson So, today’s lesson was a short

story and you had to find the main idea in the passage When we were done, we did notes or other homework for other classes Then the bell rang and I was off to Bio and Vincent followed me and we walked together just talking then Bianca was behind us and mumbled

something under her breath and I ignored her and her comments for the rest of the day until she grabbed my arm

“You think you have a sad life there’s other people

suffering more then you so don’t play innocent on us because it’s not working little princess or-’’ Then Vincent cut her off

“leave her alone Bianca stop being a bully or we will have some problems do you hear me?” Bianca looks taken back like who-are-you look Bianca turns and leaves with her friends and they give faces Then Vincent looks at me

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah I’m fine” I said

But he knows I’m not fine but doesn’t show it

Vincent asks me if I wanted to come over and I said

maybe another time I have stuff to do I felt bad because

I have a secret but I can’t tell him but I really want to but I just can’t and I think I won’t ever will
