NUMBER OF STUDENTS TO BE ACCEPTED FROM PARTNER UNIVERSITY: 2 academic year exchange places or 4 semester exchange places

*Stony Brook University cannot accept American Citizens/US Green Card Holders as part of the exchange program

COURSE RESTRICTIONS FOR EXCHANGE STUDENT:

All except for areas of Health Science programs and Graduate level students

Courses in Dance, Theatre Arts and Cinema & Cultural Studies will be limited

Business major students are only allowed to register for a maximum of 3 BUS/ACC courses per semester, the courses will be selected every semester and a list will be sent out to the students prior to

registration To meet the minimum course load, business major students will be required to also select courses from other academic departments on campus

Minimum course load 12 US credits Maximum course load 17 US credits

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY (University of Auckland students are exempt)

Only IBT TOEFL or IELTS scores will be considered for admission to Stony Brook University’s

Exchange/study abroad program

TOEFL IBT: 80

IELTS: 6.5

Fall 2019

First day allowed to check in to the dorms Tuesday, August 20, 2019 Mandatory Orientation Exchange and visiting students Thursday, August 22, 2019

Required dorm check out date by 4 pm for students attending one semester Thursday, December 19, 2019

Spring 2020

First day allowed to check in to the dorms Tuesday, January 21, 2020 Mandatory Orientation Exchange and visiting students Thursday, January 23, 2020

Required dorm check out date by 4 pm for students attending one semester Wednesday, May 20, 2020

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

October 15 for Spring admission, April 1 for Fall admission Nominations emails should be sent out prior

to the deadline

ACCOMMODATION:

On campus housing is arranged for all exchange and visiting students No application or deposit is

required Students will stay in one of six resident facilities, each with computing and fitness centers and within walking distance of the Academic Mall

We cannot guarantee that students will receive their preferred room choice

TUITION COST:

Students will be charged at the out of state rate, visit the website below for tuition and fee rates

Exchange students will receive a tuition waiver, but will be responsible to pay all other mandatory university fees
