1 The meeting began at 9:00 a.m with those attending introducing themselves
2 Houston asked the board for a decision about converting two stock options to cash because of
minimum stock shares An extended discussion occurred about different options It was decided that the Research Division would be asked to make recommendations regarding reinvesting funds
recovered Lipscomb made motion with second by Wigal to convert the shares Motion passed by voice vote

Trang 23 Raju presented conference information Hotel ownership changed during the past year which resulted
in increased costs for all facilities except hotel rooms Four breakout rooms were reserved with two additional rooms available if needed Room has been reserved for the Executive Board Meeting The College of Engineering will host the conference reception which will be conducted at the art museum Dion requested that the Monday breakfast room be large enough to conduct officer elections for the Instructional, Research, and Administration divisions
4 Mohsen invited the current ASEE president to attend the annual meeting and possibly speak at the meeting During the Monday noon luncheon, the Evans Best Paper Award will be presented
Extended discussion occurred regarding the conference program and specific events Final decision will rest with Sulbaran as he works with the host site Houston made motion to set early conference registration at $195.00 and late registration at $225.00 Motion was seconded by Wigal and passed by voice vote
5 The host site requested an advance for the conference A $2000.00 advance was approved with the understanding that the host institution would return the advance after all accounts were settled If funds remain after paying all expenses, these would also be returned to the section
6 A motion passed that the host institution pursue vendor exhibits because there would be minimum financial risk to the section
7 Thomas will produce 250 Proceedings CDs and 150 bound abstracts The host institution will pay publication costs for the Book of Abstracts as budgeted in the registration cost
8 Board approved Thomas’ request to conduct a survey of each section This would be used for future conference planning
9 The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m
