We recommend you integrate planning for your Fellowship application into your annual appraisal, discussing the different elements with your line manager as appropriate It is important that you also contact the PASSPoRT Lead or Administrator, to identify a

relevant trained Mentor who is ideally (but not limited to) in your School/area for support while developing and completing your submission Alternatively, or in addition, we

Please complete this evidence grid to identify all relevant and recent examples of professional activity that support your statements in the following sections of this document For example, you might mention your role as a module leader, attending a subject-related conference or perhaps a role you have held in promoting strategic objectives linked to teaching and learning across your School For each example, you are asked to indicate its alignment with one or more of the Dimensions of Practice of the UK PSF and with the statements I-VI for Descriptor 2– see https://www.heacademy.ac.uk/professional-recognition/uk-professional-standards-framework-ukpsf Please also include any relevant dates to demonstrate the currency and/or extent of the activity examples

Part 2: Demonstration of Professional and Developmental

Activities for D2 Fellow

A critically reflective account of how your recent experiences, activities and current role evidence your meeting fully the Dimensions of Practice and Descriptor 2.1-vi in

the UKPSF (2000 words)

Part 3: Details of Referees

Your application must be accompanied by two references Referees must be

Fellows/Senior Fellows/Principal Fellows of the HEA They are also likely to be experienced

staff who are able to comment knowledgeably, and from first-hand experience, on

your current role and any other relevant activities you have recently undertaken

Referees need to be directly familiar with your academic practice to validate the claims made eg in the evidence grid and in the written sections This familiarity enables them

to authenticate your practice Referees must be able to authenticate your practice as

aligned to demonstrate the criteria for Descriptor 2 and verifying that the application presents a fair and honest reflection of your practice in line with the Fellowship category

HEA Fellowship We strongly recommend your referees read your application prior to

completing the reference

It is essential that each of your referees is familiar with the requirements of the UKPSF and is an appropriately experienced member of staff working for a UK Higher Education Institution We strongly recommend you encourage your referees to read the D2

Guidance for Referees information provided for referees, prior to completing the

reference

It is your responsibility to collect the references and submit them as part of your application Your application will not go forward to review if it is

incomplete.

The key aspect of a Fellow (D2) application is that they must demonstrate the full meeting of all the Dimensions of Practice in the UK PSF and evidence for Descriptor 2.i-vi

of Evidence grid and in the Demonstration of Professional Activity against the

Dimensions of Practice (i.e the Areas of Activity, Core Knowledge and Professional

Values) and for Descriptor 2i-vi We are looking for evidence of commitment to

teaching and/or supporting learning rather than general academic achievements You might wish to organise your statement and comments around the Areas of Activity in the Dimensions of Practice of the UKPSF and the aspects of Descriptor 2 i-vi You also need to authenticate the applicant’s practice as, at least, demonstrating satisfactory practice in alignment with the UKPSF and D2
