Record of submission

of a thesis/portfolio for a higher degree

Your thesis or portfolio must be written to the specifications outlined in the guidance document

‘Specifications for Higher Degree Theses and Portfolios’ (Appendix 6 of QA7 Research Degrees) To

meet your submission deadline, the thesis/portfolio must be submitted to the Doctoral College in both electronic format and paper format.

1. Submit the electronic copy of your thesis/portfolio using the Doctoral College Submission page on Moodle: https://moodle.bath.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=58088

2. Bring two soft-bound paper copies of your printed thesis or portfolio to the Doctoral College

[Note that three copies are needed if you are on a programme that includes a third examiner – e.g.

MS, MD, and some interdisciplinary PhD programmes].

You are advised to keep an additional copy, identical to those submitted, for your reference during the examination process

Now the thesis/portfolio is written, you may wish to apply for a thesis restriction which will limit public access to the work once it is deposited in the library in its final form (after successful examination) Use form PGR7 to request a restriction of up to 3 years duration

This form can be completed electronically, but if you complete it by hand, please use BLOCK CAPITALS Give this form to the Doctoral College when you submit the soft-bound paper copies

to notify the Doctoral College that you would like a member of your supervisory team to attend your viva, please indicate their name here:

Note - A member of the supervisory team who has been permitted to attend a viva voce may not take any active part in the examination.
