Our school offers the rigor of International Baccalaureate (IB) studies in
a quiet, approachable setting Highland Senior has a strong academic culture, and IB students are evaluated with their peers worldwide Highland Senior is one of two SPPS high schools in which all ninth and tenth grade students participate in the IB Middle Years Programme; IB Diploma classes in all subjects are open to grades 11-12 We are the high school for the district Spanish Immersion and Chinese Immersion programs as well as the Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented (G/T)
Articulation The smaller size of our school makes it easier for students
to forge connections –with teachers, coaches, and other young people who share their interests Over 30 enrichment opportunities are available to students in music, theater, dance, student government, clubs and athletics

Graduating with High Honors and Honors
To graduate with “High Honors” students must finish their senior year with a four-year GPA of 3.75 or above and have completed
at least two years of a world language (or demonstrate proficiency) To graduate with “Honors” students have to complete the world language requirement and have a four-year GPA of 3.3 –3.74
Graduation Requirements & Curriculum
Highland Park Senior is on a seven period day/quarter schedule Students receive final grades each quarter For each class a student can earn 1.0 credit each quarter Core classes (English, social studies, mathematics and science) and world language are taken for the full year Highland Park Senior High students must earn 94credits to graduate with the following required classes:
